  Verfahren zur Verbesserung des Feuers von Edelsteinen und dgl. 



   Es ist bekannt, durch Hinterlegen mit spiegelnden Oberflächen das Feuer von Edelsteinen und dgl. zu verstärken bzw. deren Farbe zu beeinflussen. Es ist auch festgestellt worden, dass unter dem Einflusse von Radiumstrahlung verschiedene Edelsteine, wie z. B. Diamanten, selbst Licht auszustrahlen in der Lage sind. 



   Es ist nun gelungen, durch Verwendung von leuchtenden Massen bekannter Art als Unterlagen für die Edelsteine, die entweder auf den Steinen direkt oder auf Trägern angebracht werden, in welchen die Steine eingebettet werden, sowohl das Feuer der Edelsteine zu verstärken, als auch durch die Wahl der Leuchtmassen deren Farbe zu beeinflussen. Zur Ausführung des Verfahrens gemäss der Erfindung   kommen   sowohl   nichtradioaktive leuchtende   Massen, als auch radioaktive Massen in Betracht, und zwar unter letzteren sowohl solche, die selbstleuchtend sind, als auch solche, welche nur durch ihre radioaktive Strahlung wirken. 



   Insbesondere zweckmässig ist die Kombination von selbstleuchtenden nichtradioaktiven Massen mit radioaktiven Massen. 



   Durch die Wahl der selbstleuchtenden Unterlagen senden die so behandelten Edelsteine auch im Dunkeln Licht aus, wodurch sie sofort erkennbar sind und in ihrem Werte erhöht erscheinen. 



   PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE :
1. Verfahren zur Verbesserung des Feuers von   Edelsteinen oder dgl., gekennzeichnet durch   leuchtende Massen, welche entweder auf dem Edelsteine direkt angebracht sind oder auf Trägern. in welchen die Edelsteine eingebettet sind.

   It is known to reinforce the fire of precious stones and the like or to influence their color by backing them with reflective surfaces. It has also been found that under the influence of radium radiation, various gemstones, such as e.g. B. diamonds are able to emit light by themselves.



   It has now succeeded in using luminous masses of a known type as bases for the gemstones, which are either attached directly to the stones or on carriers in which the stones are embedded, both to intensify the fire of the gemstones and also by choice of the luminous masses to influence their color. To carry out the method according to the invention, both non-radioactive luminous masses and radioactive masses come into consideration, namely among the latter both those that are self-luminous and those that only act through their radioactive radiation.



   The combination of self-luminous non-radioactive materials with radioactive materials is particularly useful.



   By choosing the self-luminous base, the gemstones treated in this way also emit light in the dark, making them immediately recognizable and appearing to have increased values.
