Process for the denitration of sulfuric acid containing nitrogen oxides.
A large number of chemical processes lead to nitrogen oxides, especially nitric acid, nitrous acid and sulfuric acid containing lower nitrogen oxides.

technical importance. This denitration has hitherto been carried out partly by diluting the highly concentrated sulfuric acid with water, partly by heating it with the introduction of gases. The former method leads to dilute acid which has to be concentrated again for most uses, the latter method is technologically difficult and expensive.
The present invention relates to the following novel method of denitration.
The acid to be denitrated, in the concentrated form in which it falls, is allowed to act on solid substances which react exothermically with sulfuric acid. In this case, especially as a result of the heat that occurs when the concentrated liquid meets the solid reaction component and is initially localized at the place of its development, the

Words, practically quantitative. The gases escape in a completely undiluted form and can therefore be used for further regeneration in a particularly simple and loss-free manner.
The choice of the solid reaction component depends primarily on the intended type of utilization of the sulfuric acid: the dentration itself has a major impact. A number of bodies can be carried out with approximately rich success, with lime and calcium carbonate with the formation of gypsum, whereby in the latter case carbonic acid escapes with
