Zündkerze.
Es ist üblich, bei Zündkerzen den Zentralstift, der gegen die Masse des Zylinders zu isolieren ist, mit Ausnahme derjenigen Stelle, an der die Funkenbildung vor sich geht, aus einem gewöhnlichen Stahlmaterial herzustellen. Dabei liegt dieser Zentralstift zum Teil in dem Zündraum der Zündkerze, so dass bei den Explosionen im Zylinder dieser Teil des Zentralstiftes hoch erhitzt wird, und infolge des bei der Explosion vorhandenen Sauerstoffes tritt das bekannte Zundern des Zentralstiftes ein.
Dieses Zundern äussert sich bei dem bisher für die Zentralstifte zur Anwendung kommenden Stahlmaterial in der Weise, dass vom Zentralstift verhi1tnism ssig groBe Plättchen abspringen, die sich im Znnd- raum der Kerze verteilen, hier an den ! verbrennenden Öl festkleben und so infolge zunehmender Anhäufung schnell einen Schluss in der Kerze herbeiführen und die Funken- bildung vernichten.
Die vorliegende Erfindung vermeidet diese durch das Zandern hervorgebrachten Störungen und Nachteile der Zündkerze dadurch, dass mindestens jener Teil des Zentralstiftes, der mit dem verbrennenden Gemisch in Berührung kommt, aus Schnelldrehstahl besteht, welcher nur schwer zundert und dessen geringes Zündern nicht im Abspringen verhältnismässig grosser Schuppen besteht, sondern nur in der Bildung pulverförmiger Teilchen, die einesteils wegen ihrer geringen Menge und andererseits dadurch, dass sie gleich nach ihrer Loslösung aus der Kerze herausgeblasen werden, mit dem Öl wesentliche und störende Anhäufungen und somit auch Schluss in der Kerze nicht hervorrufen.
