  ADOLFSCHOSZBERGERINWIEN.

   Leather fastening for billiard sticks.

The previous billiard stick tips consisted either of a relatively elastic leather plate 1 (FIG. 1) alone or of one with a washer 2 made of hard leather, and both were previously attached directly to the wooden or leg stick spitxo with the help of glue or one other adhesive stuck on.

The (subject matter of the present invention is a billiard stick cap in which
 EMI1.1
Acetone is applied to disc 3 or, because it dries too quickly, glacial acetic acid (concentr. acetic acid) is applied and left on it for a short time (approx. 1 min.), after which the leather disc 1 is placed and both are pressed together well. A perforated plate 5 (indicated by dotted lines in FIG. 2) in whose openings 6 the bolts 4 are inserted is advantageously used for this pressing, and the pressure from the upper pressing plate is expediently applied directly to the 1, or

After a few minutes the press is opened and the caps are allowed to air dry for a while. The leather is then turned into the usual domed shape on the lathe.

It is beneficial. to cover one side of the leather with a celluloid solution before the discs have been punched out of it: this creates a very strong connection with the celluloid base plate.

In order to manufacture the caps as cheaply as possible, the bolt j can also be screwed into the disk 3 (FIG. 3). After applying the leather 1 in the manner described, the screw is also permanently held in the disc.
