Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Betanaphtol sehr gut bewährt.

Process for the production of an adhesive which can be used in the shoe industry for gluing leather from blood albumin.
The hitherto most lively adhesive in shoe production was the glue (wheat glue), which, due to its properties, was most suitable for this; z. B. in the manufacture of the tops and in the manufacture of the floors, glue was mostly used, which was marketed in dried form.
Attempts have been made to replace the glue with various preparations made from starch, flour, dextrin and the like, but none of them have proven very effective.
It has been found that a solution of blood albumin in water can form an advantageous substitute for glue under certain conditions.
The following weight ratio works best:
100 parts of blood albumin and approximately 70 parts of water.
There is hardly much that can be changed in this ratio, because at 90 parts of water the bond strength is already greatly reduced. If you used too much water, the solution loses its adhesive strength.
Blood albumin must be left to stand in water much longer than glue. to get an easily spreadable adhesive out of it. Since the solutions rot very easily, it is necessary to add a disinfectant; as such, z. B.
Betanaphtol has proven very effective.
