Safety valve for boiling kettles, especially in army kitchens.

The subject of the invention is a safety valve which is particularly suitable for the boiling kettles of the army kitchens, which is springless, only works by its own weight and prevents the hand from being burned by the escaping steam when it is opened on a trial basis.

The drawing illustrates this safety valve in FIGS. 1 and 2 in side view and top view with partial section.

The valve cone a is seated in the tubular body b inserted into the steam outlet opening of the cooking vessel, the bore of which it closes off in a steam-tight manner due to its own weight. The upwardly protruding from the body b spindle c is with an annular groove d and in its circumference above and below this annular groove with
 EMI1.1
is easily detachably attached to the body b by means of a pin k. This type of connection prevents the valve cone a from getting lost in general as well as when the valve is opened for cleaning purposes.

The body b has lateral openings 111 in its wall which, when the valve is closed, are closed by the cylindrical part of the valve cone a and which merge into longitudinal channels n extending downward to below the cap edge.

Has a certain excess steam pressure built up in the kettle due to overheating of the food, the valve cone a is lifted and the steam is released through the exposed openings? ? t and the longitudinal channels n of the body b are directed downwards and escape laterally below the edge of the cap.

In this way there is a burning of the Ventll1. Egel held a hand out on a trial basis.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Safety valve for boiling kettles, especially in military kitchens, characterized by a springless valve cone acting solely by its own weight, the spindle of which is provided with an annular groove and adjoining, offset longitudinal grooves that extend downwards or upwards and are used to guide the spindle serve on a cap that covers the valve seat and is detachably connected to it.
