Process for the production of refractory bricks and other refractory products using sulphite waste liquor as a binder.

The invention relates to a method for producing refractory bricks and other refractory products using sulphite liquor as a binder.

It is already known to use sulphite liquor as a binder for high-temperature pellets, namely for briquettes made from queasy ores, although it depends on the behavior of the suisstiauge at high temperatures with regard to the shape of the briquettes bound therewith.

It has also been proposed to bind silicon carbide for the production of refractory products with substances to be coked, which form a carbon framework under the influence of high temperatures. The binders used for this purpose, such as tar, asphalt, pitch, molasses, sugar, glue, etc., however, have the disadvantage that they cause a more or less strong glaze or blistering and are rather expensive, so that they can be used as starting materials less suitable for less valuable products than the comparatively worthless sulphite waste liquor.

The present process is based on the knowledge that sulphite liquor as a binding agent for refractory raw materials, due to its high content of lignin sulphonic acid salts, has a very high viscosity and excellent binding capacity EMI1.1 penetrates. For this reason, even very brittle raw materials, e.g. H. silicon carbide, with sulphite waste liquor a completely identical, extremely plastic and slightly formbale mass can be achieved without difficulty, which is EMI1.2 it. **WARNUNG** Ende CLMS Feld Kannt Anfang DESC uberlappen**. When the products made in this way are baked, the sultitol waste liquor is partially volatilized, but for the most part it forms a solid carbon structure through coking of the organic components, which gives the product high resistance to very high temperatures. EMI1.3 Process for the production of refractory bricks and other refractory products using sulphite waste liquor as a binding agent, characterized in that the ferrous base material, e.g. B. silicon carbide, is bound with sulphite waste liquor. ** WARNING ** End of CLMS field may overlap beginning of DESC **.
