initiated relative displacement between the slide 13 and the clamping jaw holder 1, the eccentrics are lifted by the clamping jaws 3, 4. At the same time, the springs 7 acting on the clamping jaws press the clamping jaws apart and make them available for biting onto the rope. The rope x is then placed between the grooves of the clamping jaws with the second, free hand.
Once this has happened, the hand encompassing the slide 13 is lifted off the same, whereupon the toggle lever device snaps back under the action of the spring 17 and the eccentrics return to their original locking position. In this position, the hold of the rope in the clamping jaws is so secure that even when jerky pulls on the clamped rope x, the clamping in the jaws remains upright.
The Sellkemme according to FIGS. 6 to 8 is constructed similarly to that according to FIGS. 1 to 5. In this clamp, the slide 13 of the toggle lever device is pocket-shaped and provided with a slot 20 through which the handle 18 of the clamping jaw holder protrudes . In this embodiment, the clamping jaws are influenced by peculiarly shaped springs which are fastened to the clamping jaw holder 1 by means of screws. The mode of operation of this device is the same as that of the device according to FIGS. 1 to 5.
Instead of the springs 7, differently shaped spring structures, for example helical springs, can be installed between the jaws. The guide or the individual parts of the clamping device can also be configured differently.
