Die Verwendung von Bariumsulfid als Ausgangsmaterial für die Herstellung von
Bariumhydroxysulfbydrat hat den Vorteil der Billigkeit und Bequemlicbkeit, da es in konzentrierter Form zu niedrigem Preise erhältlich ist. Ausserdem ist es ein trocken@@, halt- bares Pulver, das leicht versandt und verschifft werden kann.
