Beimengungen.
 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Process for separating the solid paraffin hydrocarbons from the liquid ones
Admixtures.
 EMI1.1

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 Fraction adds a solution of aromatic hydrocarbons in sulphurous acid until the solid paraffinic hydrocarbons are separated. The starting material can either be taken directly from the paraffin-containing fraction of the petroleum distillate in question, or a part of the liquid paraffins can be removed from it by the methods already known. After the separation has occurred, it is filtered, pressed and the precipitate is washed with liquid sulphurous acid.

  The aromatic hydrocarbons which can be used in this case are the extract obtained by the process of patent specification No. 44088 in the purification of petroleum
 EMI2.1
 For example, the paraffin can also be separated from the shale oil
The concentration of the solution of liquid sulfurous acid in aromatic hydrocarbons which is used in the individual cases depends on the raw material to be treated. The essence of the invention remains the same in all cases: the separation of the solid paraffin hydrocarbons from the existing mixture by means of a solution of aromatic or cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbons in liquid sulfurous acid.

   The following special examples may explain the implementation of the method in more detail.

   100 parts of paraffin oil obtained from lignite tar are mixed with 70 to 100 parts of liquid sulphurous acid at ordinary temperature in a suitable vessel.

  The paraffin separates out in the form of crystalline flakes. It is then filtered off with suction and the residue is washed once or twice with liquid sulfurous acid. On
 EMI2.2
 the same amount of a mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons as obtained by the process of patent specification No. 44/88, diluted and then mixed with 100 parts of liquid sulphurous acid. The separation of the paraffin begins immediately, the word processing takes place as indicated in Example I. In this case, pure sulphurous liquid acid can be used for rewashing in the aromatic hydrocarbons indicated.
