Description

Resonanzdacke f fir Saiten I nstrumente.

    Resonance jack for string instruments.

The subject of the invention are ribs on soundboards of all kinds. These ribs differ from those previously used in that instead of the full and straight ribs on the string instruments, curved and hollowed ribs and hollowed ribs on the underside of the pianinos and upright pianos be used, through which the instrument to be played sounds loud, pure and equally strong on all strings as well as full and noble.

The drawing illustrates in Fig. 1 the violin with curved and hollowed ribs, in Fig. 2 the top view and in Fig. 3 the side view of the interior of a piano with an inverted bridge, which like the ribs is hollowed out on the underside.

Fig. 1 shows a violin with the curved and hollowed out ribs R. The hollow H penetrates only two thirds into the flesh of the rib on string instruments and only one third into both the bridge S and the ribs R on pianos and pianos. The ribs are rounded at their ends, as is the cavity.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Resonance cover for string instruments, characterized by the arrangement of ribs which are curved and hollowed out up to two thirds of the height.
