Verfahren zur Herstellung gerbender Stoffe.
In der Patentschrift Nr. 69375 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung gerbender Stoffe beschrieben, dessen Wesen darin besteht, dass Phenole oder Pheno1mlfosäuren oder Gemische dieser Stoffe mit Traubenzucker oder anderen Zuckerarten bzw. Zucker bildenden Stoffen und mit Schwefelsäure bzw. substituierten Schwefelsäuren bei nicht zu hoher Temperatur behandelt werden, so zwar, dass ganz oder doch im wesentlichen in Wasser lösliche Produkte entstehen.
In der Patentschrift Nr. 69375 ist eine Ausgestaltung dieses Verfahrens beschrieben, gekennzeichnet durch die Verwendung von Di- und Trioxybenzolen oder deren alkylierte Homologe von Naphtolen, Di- bzw. Trioxynaphtalinen und deren alkylierte Homologe oder von gulfs- säuren dieser Stoffe oder der Gemische dieser angeführten Stoffe mit den Sulfosäuren.
Es ist nun gefunden worden, dass man bei obigem Verfahren an Stelle von Zucker oder Zucker bildenden Stoffen andere Kohlenhydrate oder Kohlehydrate enthaltende Stoffe verwenden kann, und dass man generell bei Verwendung von Sulfosäuren aromatischer Oxyverbindungen an Stelle von Schwefelsäure andere kondensieren wirkende Mittel benutzen oder auch bei Abwesenheit von Schwefelsäure bzw. anderen kondensierend wirkenden Mitteln arbeiten kann, und dass man auch bei Verwendung der nicht sulfierten aromatischen Oxyvssrbindungen gleichfalls an Stelle von Schwefelsäure andere Kondensationsmittel verwenden kann, wobei aber eine nachträgliche Sulnerung erforderlich ist.
Ausführungsbeispiele :
1. Sulfosäuren aromatischer Oxyvcrbindungen werden mit Kohlehydraten, wie z. B. Stärke, Dextrin, Zellulose, Sägemehl, Papier oder dgl. für sich oder bei Anwesenheit kondensieren wirkender Mittel, wie z. B. Salzsäure usw., bis zur Bildung wasserlöslicher Substanzen erhitzt.

In den geschilderten Beispielen ist es unter Umständen zweckmässig, dem Reaktionsgemisch etwas Essigsäure, Sulfide oder Hydrosulfide oder dgl. zuzusetzen.
Die so erhältlichen Produkte können sofort in wässeriger Lösung zum Gerben benutzt werden.
PATENT ANSPRÜCHE :
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung gerbender Stoffe nach dem Stammpatente Nr. 69375, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man an Stelle von Zucker bzw. Zucker bildenden Stoffen andere Kohlehydrate bzw. Kohlehydrate enthaltende oder bildende Stoffe verwendet.
