Abstract
The invention relates to a bell. By using titanium or a titanium alloy for bells, the vibrations generated are not damped, but the response, load-bearing capacity and brilliance as well as the duration of the ringing are significantly improved. The titanium bells are still audible and weigh only about half with the same dimensions.
Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a bell. A bell is an approximately rotationally symmetrical one
Workpiece that is used to produce loud ringing of bells by an inside hanging or outside attached separately.
In the case of bells 1, either the rocker 2 or the bell itself is pivoted using various devices in order to trigger the sound when it collides, in particular on the knock ring 4. Of course, the bell starts to vibrate.
Usually the bell is cast from brass or bronze.
The invention is based on the fact that titanium or a titanium alloy is used instead of damping materials such as soft brass alloys or bronze alloys.
The bell made of titanium or a titanium alloy can be coated with titanium nitride (TiN chromium nitride (CrN) or chromium carbide (CrC) by means of physical vapor deposition processes, PVD for short. Both titanium and the alloy itself, as well as that with TiN or CrC or CrN coated alloys are inert and do not cause any allergies.
Due to the very easy to vibrate titanium alloy or titanium, the bell has a very easy response and a brilliant tone rich in overtones.
This results from the density and sound conductivity of titanium or the titanium alloy.
The bell can also carry molded ornaments or ornaments.
The success is clearly audible, since the response of the bell and the brilliance as well as the load-bearing capacity of the generated sound are significantly improved, since there is practically no damping of the impulses, vibrations and overtones due to a softer alloy.
The duration of the ringing is extended by approximately twice and the ringing of the bell can be heard much further.
In addition, the risk of breakage with titanium or a titanium alloy is many times lower than with bronze or brass bells.
Likewise, the weight of a bell is reduced by about half, which allows a weaker dimensioning of the framework, on which the bell is suspended with the bracket 3, and the building.
