Driven sheet metal pile with welded-on tip cap for concrete pile foundations.
The invention relates to a tubular sheet metal pile with a welded-on tip cap, which is driven into the ground by means of a ram core for foundation purposes and then filled with concrete. It consists in the fact that the tip cap is not only welded to the pile tube in a known manner, but is also connected by iron bands that cross at the cap tip and are welded to both the cap and the pile tube. This simple connection results in such a great reinforcement of the tip and stiffening of the lower pile endea that it is possible to leave the cap unstiffened on the inside without fear of damaging it during ramming.
The drawing represents a sheet steel pipe pile produced according to the invention; 1 is a view of the pile with the wooden ram core protruding above; FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the lower termination and FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the pile and ram core.
A sheet metal cap c, which is completely closed at the bottom, is intimately welded to the end a of the sheet metal tube b, crossing iron bands d are placed over the tube b and the cap c, which cross at the tip of the cap and are intimately connected to the cap o and tube b by welding.
This creates a sheet iron pipe pile that is secure against any tearing off or changes in shape when it is driven in by means of a ram core, then a full driving success is guaranteed, especially since water is also prevented from entering the inside of the sheet metal pipe.
The rammer e, which fills the post tightly to the tip, is made of wood in the usual way and is secured at the top by an iron ring f.
The inside of the pile can also be filled in or stamped out with concrete after the pile-driving work has been completed.
