occupied.
In the case of the nut lock according to FIGS. 25, 26 and 27, the flat ring is set with a number of prongs 6, in the spaces between which a tool suitable for rotating the ring can be inserted.
In a nut lock according to the invention, the piece of wire 4 crosses a circular,

the friction caused by the penetration of the ring into the sharp edge of the thread is increased.
The rise of the wire does not need to be gradual and its crossing over the thread

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
When using the nut lock, the nut is first tightened on the thread and then the wire or washer ring 4 is inserted into the thread at the end of the screw bolt and turned back against the head surface of the nut by means of the nose or shoulder 6; If there is no such approach, it is turned back using a wrench or pliers.
In the position of the nut lock pushed out up to the nut face, the latter acts like a wedge between the nut and the thread surface lying next to it, so that the nut is reliably prevented from loosening. This wedge effect occurs on a large part of the outer surface of the ring, as can be seen from FIGS. 1, 4 and 7, and is greater, the more forcefully the ring is turned against the face of the nut.
A falling of the nut lock from the bolt is impossible because the nut, when it tries to unscrew, is held up by hitting the lock and is now locked.
The screw nut lock is preferably made of a metal which is softer than the metal of the screw bolt and its nut.
