Device on firearms to secure the cartridge puller against sliding off the cartridge bead.
The invention relates to a device for securing the cartridge puller against sliding off the cartridge bead and essentially consists of a resilient bolt which is tensioned by the cartridge puller when the lock is closed, but protrudes behind the cartridge bead when it snaps into place and supports the cartridge puller laterally.
In the drawing, a firearm provided with such a device is shown in section in FIG. 1 with the breech closed and in FIG. 2 with the breech not yet completely closed.
Next to the head a of the cartridge puller al, parallel to the breech b of the weapon, there is a movable side stop in the manner of a bolt V, which is constantly pushed backwards by a helical spring c.
EMI1.1
shows a paragraph d3.
While the cartridge puller engages in an incision shortly before the closure is closed (FIG. 2), when the closure is closed (FIG. 1), its head is clamped by the shaft of the bolt.
The bolt V and its spring c are mounted in a socket e, which forms part of the locking case of the weapon. The sleeve e is closed at the front by a screw plug f, which serves as a support for the spring c, which presses against the head piece d of the bolt. A small screw that z. can move. In order to prevent the bolt from rotating, the shaft dl could also have a rectangular cross section.
When the bolt closes, at the moment when the claw a2 of the cartridge pusher jumps over the bead g of the cartridge to grip the bead, the front edge a3 hits against the shoulder d3 of the bolt V, so that the bolt is advanced and the coil spring c is compressed .
When the claw a2 of the extractor has passed the bead g of the cartridge, it snaps in front of the bead due to the elasticity of the cartridge puller. At this moment the front edge a3 of the cartridge puller disengages from the shoulder d3 of the bolt V. This is released and moved back by the spring c, its shaft dl clamping the cartridge puller laterally (FIG. 1).
If the head of the cartridge puller is clamped, the claw of the cartridge puller will always pull out the empty case when the bolt is opened after the shot has been fired. The storage of the case in the chamber has no effect on this. It just has to be such that the cartridge puller cannot slide off the cartridge bead when the case is pulled out.
