Durch die beschriebene Art der Bedachung greifen die Metallplatten so in die Halteleisten ein, dass eine beträchtlich stärkere Konstruktion geschaffen wird als bisher. Die Gestalt der Platten ist weiterhin derart, dass zu ihrer Herstellung bedeutend weniger Material als bisher erforderlich wird. Die Metallplatten und die Halteleisten können in gleicher Weise für die Seitenwände von Gebauden, ebenso wie für die Dächer verwendet werden. Die Metallplatten können in jeder beliebigen Weise verziert werden und gegen atmosphärische Einflüsse und Sonnenstrahlung'durch irgend einen beliebigen Überzug geschützt werden.
Durch die beschriebene Bedachung wird die Herstellung eines Gebäudes wesentlich erleichter ; so kann beispielsweise die gewöhnliche Firsteindeckung mit den Fugen vollständig vermieden werden und hiefür zwei Halteleisten, Rücken an Rücken, an dem Scheitel des Daches angebracht und ein Streifen aus Blei über dieselben gelegt werden, so dass die Kanten desselben unter die gegenüberliegenden oberen Flanschen der Halteleisten treten können. Ausserdem kann die Bedachung sehr leicht ausgebessert werden. Eine einzelne Metallplatte kann mit grosser Leichtigkeit dadurch entfernt werden, dass die Zungen 9 aufgebogen werden, worauf die beschädigte Platte abgezogen und eine neue eingeführt werden kann.
Durch Anordnung der Schlitze 3 in den Halteleisteu im gleichen Abstande resultiert keine Schwierigkeit, die metallplatten versetzt zueinander oder in anderer Weise anzubringen.
