in addition the mixture of grape sugar, alum and hydrochloric acid already used for the first preparation, because after the writing has been removed from the plate and after it has dried off, the plate is immediately ready to accept a new transfer.

In the method described above, it is assumed that the original was written with the above-mentioned Gallus ink. For the purpose of duplicating originals produced with mechanical printing or typewriter, it is advisable to proceed in such a way that the original is produced in greasy or sticky ink and is rubbed in fresh with a powder obtained by drying the above-mentioned gall ink.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for producing a printing form suitable for printing any number of reproductions from an original, characterized in that a matted plate or roller made of glass, porcelain, enamel or some other inert, rigid mass is first wiped over with a liquid consisting essentially of glucose and alum , the excess is dried off, an original written with ink consisting of gallic acid and iron salt is briefly pressed with the image side on, the externally unchanged plate is then covered with a liquid that essentially consists of a boric acid-containing glycerine solution and then rubbed in with printer's ink in a known manner is rolled over.
