EMI1.1
The storm clips previously used consisted of a sheet metal disk forming the head and a shaft riveted to this. According to the present invention, these securing means, which are used in large quantities for roof coverings, are produced in a simple manner by producing the entire stem chimney from a piece of wire which is pressed into the head part. It is true that nails made from a piece of wire have already become known, but these could not be used appropriately as storm clips because the loop-shaped head part consisted of wire with a round cross-section, so that such storm clips would result in the formation of large joints, which would be useful from the outset exclude.
The drawing shows an example embodiment of the subject matter of the
EMI1.2
receives. Instead of in the form of a loop, the head can of course also follow any other line (polygon).
A web 2 (FIG. 3) leads from the loop 1 (FIG. 3) towards the center of the loop, where it merges into the shaft 3, which essentially runs perpendicular to the loop plane. At the transition point between the web and the shaft, the flat pressure of the loop gradually disappears and the shaft remains as a round copper wire as it was originally. The web 2 can expediently rise somewhat from the loop plane in order to exert a spring effect after the shaft has been bent over and to press the roofing panels more firmly against one another; however, the web can also remain in the same plane with the loop.
In use, the head part 1 is placed under the plates in a known manner, the shaft passed through the holes in the plates and finally bent, which effectively prevents the plates from being lifted by the wind and the ingress of dust and soot under the plates. Dust, dirt, or moisture will also build up under the head of the storm clip. in the opposite

Head back.
The cost of making this storm clip is much less than any

parts riveted to one another exist, the existing risk of loosening the rivet point is avoided.
