Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for drying moist goods, in particular pottery.
There are goods, especially pottery, which, when drying, cannot tolerate rapid drying due to sharp pulls and which develop cracks. In order to be able to dry such goods quickly, the dry goods are first dried under excess pressure of the air inside the drying room compared to the outside air and then completely dried under negative pressure of the air inside the drying room compared to the outside air. With this process, the items to be dried are evenly warmed through in the first part of the drying process, during the initial drying process, and in the second part of the drying process, the final drying process, they endure a rapid exchange of air without cracking.
The two types of drying can be carried out in the same drying room by first putting it under positive pressure and then under negative pressure, or the drying can be carried out in a first drying room and the final drying in a second drying room. It has been shown that in the case of brick goods, the finished drying of the dry goods that have been warmed through during the drying process can take place with warm air containing smoke gas, without discoloration of the same, which is due to the fact that condensation can no longer occur on the warmed-through dry goods.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Method of drying damp goods. In particular pottery, characterized in that the dry goods are first dried under excess pressure of the air in the interior of the drying room compared to the outside air and then completely dried with the air inside the drying room opposite the exhaust air.
