  Ophtalmomikroskop.

  Ophthalmic microscope.

Ophthalmoscopes are known which, for the purpose of enlarging the fundus of the eye, are combined with a microscope constructed for this purpose (ophthalmic microscope).

Instruments of the type mentioned show a cumbersome constructive connection between the ophthalmoscope on the one hand and the microscope on the other. The object of the present invention is to make this connection very handy, in such a way that any ordinary microscope can easily be converted into an ophthalmic microscope (and vice versa).

In the drawing, the device is shown schematically in FIG. 3, while FIGS. 1 and 2 serve to illustrate the matter in greater detail.

The ophthalmoscope S ', S' is attached to the rod-like support piece T, at one end of which the convex lens 1 is arranged parallel to the ophthalmoscope in such a way that its focal point is located immediately behind the opening of the ophthalmoscope. The clamp K is attached to the other end of the carrier 7 ″. The latter can encompass the tube R of the microscope from above and be compressed by means of the press screw r ′.

The stand P has a similar clamp K 'and press screw r. By means of the ophthalmoscope constructed in this way and the stand P it is possible to convert any ordinary microscope into an ophthalmic microscope in a few minutes. This is because the lower part of the stand S (FIG. 3) of each microscope can be bent, while the upper part can be inserted into the clamp K ′ of the stand P in a horizontal position. If you still attach the ophthalmoscope described above to the tube R, the whole thing is ready as an ophthalmic microscope.

The ophthalmoscope and the stand P can just as easily be removed from the microscope, whereupon the microscope can be used again for other common purposes.
