Die Federbügel umfassen den Hauptdruckzylinder derart, dass die bei der Drehung desselben erzeugte Reibung zwischen Hauptdruckzylinder und Bügeln diese und damit den kleinen Anhängezylinder so zu bewegen strebt, dass er auf den Unterzylinder gedrückt wird. Dadurch ist er trotz seines geringen Gewichtes imstande, den zu verstreckenden Vorgarnfaden genügend festzuhalten.
Dadurch, dass Haupt-und Anhängezylinder miteinander verbunden wird, ist die Bedienung des damit ausgestatteten Streckwerkes ebenso leicht wie mit den seither üblichen einfachen Druckzylindern.
