EMI1.1
Up to now, iron hall structures have consisted of portal girders, in which the loads caused by lateral forces, i.e. in particular those resulting from wind pressure, were transferred from one side of the hall to the other through the appropriately designed and dimensioned roof structure, and the entire structure was partially tilted was prevented by its weight, partly by attaching it to heavy foundations, possibly also by anchoring the sides in the ground. Such constructions are relatively heavy and cumbersome and are in no case suitable for transport, as is necessary, for example, for military purposes (Baltonhatten or the like).
The subject of the present invention is an iron hall construction which differs significantly from the previously known ones in its simplicity and lightness, but which completely meets all the requirements in terms of stability. It is therefore equally suitable for both stationary and transportable buildings.
Essentially, this iron hall construction consists of transverse, rigid base beams. with which the pillars supporting the side boundaries of the hall are rigidly connected, at least in the direction towards the inside of the hall, so that the building contractor and not the roof structure are used to absorb such stresses occurring in the system, such as primarily due to wind pressure. Since the roof structure is relieved, it can be replaced by a simple strut or the like, which only has the purpose of supporting the cover of the hall and, if necessary, can also be arranged removable, as is advantageous for balloon halls.
The drawing shows an embodiment of such a llallenkonstruktion in a cross view.
With a bend-resistant base beam is referred to, which protrudes in the special case on both sides of the hall in order to widen the base area of the hall and the

The roof structure d can be made simple and easy. because it does not have to fulfill the function of transferring the forces acting laterally from one side of the hall to the opposite.
