  Verfahren zur Herstellung von Stäben, Röhren und dgl. aus Glas. 



   Nach dem Gegenstande der vorliegenden Erfindung wird die Arbeit des Ausziehens der Glasmasse von einem elektromotorisch angetriebenen Wagen oder dgl. geleistet. Die Verwendung eines solchen Wagens gestattet eine leichte und rasche Regelung der Geschwindigkeit und erlaubt, den Wagen nach einer bestimmten gewünschten durchlaufenen Strecke selbsttätig anzuhalten und die   Rückbewegung   des Wagens zum Ofen gleichfalls selbsttätig zu bewirken. 



   Die praktische Durchführung des Verfahrens gemäss vorliegender Erfindung erfolgt beispielsweise in der Weise, dass die Pfeife mit der aufgenommenen Glasmasse auf einen elektromotorisch angetriebenen Wagen gelegt und festgeklemmt wird. Nachdem der Glasarbeiter mit Hilfe einer zweiten Pfeife an der Glasmasse   Fühlung   genommen und diese   hiedurch erfasst   hat, erfolgt die Einschaltung des elektrischen Stromes zum Antrieb des Wagens entweder von Hand aus oder durch das Auflegen der Pfeife auf den Wagen. 



   Nach dem   Durchlaufen einer gewünschten Strecke,   entsprechend der verlangten Länge des Glasstabes oder   dgl.,   erfolgt selbsttätig die Ausschaltung des elektrischen Stromes, etwa mit Hilfe einer im Gleis vorgesehenen Knagge, an welche ein Schalthebel anschlägt. Nach dem Ausschalten des elektrischen Stromes   durchläuft   der Wagen behufs Bremsung eine ansteigende Strecke. Das Absprengen des Glasstabes von der Pfeife erfolgt zweckmässig vermittelst eines Hebels, welcher an einem bestimmten Punkt der Bahn selbsttätig vermittelst eines Anschlages oder dgl. ausgelöst wird und niederfällt. 



   Sobald der Wagen zum Stillstand gelangt, rollt er zurück, vorerst entlang der geneigten Strecke ohne Strom bis an einen bestimmten Punkt, an welchem gleichfalls vorzugsweise mit Hilfe eines Anschlages in der Gleisbahn, welcher einen Schalthebel betätigt, der elektrische Strom eingeschaltet wird. Der Strom wird in einer entsprechenden
Entfernung vor dem Ofen wieder ausgeschaltet, so dass der Wagen beim Ofen zum Stillstand   kommt   und sofort wieder   betriebsfähig   ist.
