Process for the production of metal buttons equipped with iron spikes.
The invention relates to a method for producing metal buttons equipped with iron spikes, which enables the dome to be attached by simply pressing a stamp.
The essence of the process is that the button at the mouth of the hole serving to receive the mandrel is provided with a collar-shaped extension and the dome is provided with an annular groove, which is located behind the collar of the button after it has been inserted, into which the collar is axially compressed the metal of the button is pressed in by means of a stamp pushed onto the mandrel.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the button manufactured according to the invention, namely Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of the button, Fig. 2 dit, side view of the iron mandrel and Fig. 3 shows the longitudinal section of the button with inserted iron mandrels together with the tools used for pressing.
The linopf o is provided with a collar-shaped extension li at the mouth of the bore d, while the iron mandrel a receives an annular groove b 'which comes to lie opposite the collar f after the mandrel has been inserted. After the mandrel has been inserted into the button c, the collar is pressed into the groove b't 'by means of a stamp h, shown in longitudinal section from FIG. 3, pressed in the direction of the arrow y, while the head c is pressed against an abutment g supports.
The metal pressed into the grooves b or b 'holds the mandrel in the button c.
The groove b of the mandrel can also be moved a little further towards the end to be inserted, so that after the collar j * is compressed, the bottom surface of the button becomes completely flat.
