Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Umhüllung der metallischen Griffe an Gefässen und dgl , welche aus einem die Wärme schlecht leitenden Stoff besteht, so dass auch bei hocherbitzten Gefässen der Griff in der Nähe der Flamme noch mit der Hand gehalten werden kann. Die Erfindung besteht darin, dass die Isoliermasse durch an deren Enden angeordnete Hohlkörper, welche ihre Hohlseite einander zukehren, an dem Metallgriff gehalten ist, um sie sowohl sicher zu befestigen, als auch vor Beschädigung zu schützen.
Die verwendete plastische Masse kann verschiedenartige Zusammensetzung besitzen, und z. B. aus Zement, Steinholz, Sorelzement usw. bestehen.
In der Zeichnung zeigt Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht des Gefässes, Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht, Fig. 3 einen Schnitt durch den Gefässgriff mit der Einrichtung zum Zusammenpressen der isolierenden Masse.
Der metallische Griff a des Gefässes c ist gegen das Gefäss zu mit einer metallischen Hülse d und am entgegengesetzten Ende mit einer Hülse e versehen, welche Halsen zur äusseren Begrenzung der nichtleitenden Umhüllung dienen. Zur Verbindung der plastischen Masse mit dem metallischen Stift wird dieser zweckmässig in eine Form f gelegt und es wird mit Hilfe einer Gegenform g, die an irgend einer Presse mit Hilfe eines Verbindungs- stempels 11 befestigt ist, die plastische Masse um den metallischen Griff a herumgepresst, welche sich zu gleicher Zeit in die Endhülsen d und e hineinlegt.
Der metallische Stift ist also fest von der nichtleitenden Masse eingeschlossen und diese selbst vollständig sicher gefasst, so dass sie sich nicht willkürlich lösen kann. und lediglich noch einer äusseren Behandlung, wie z. H. Politur bedarf, um vollkommen verkaufsfähig zu sein.
