In the drawing, an embodiment of an apparatus for carrying out the above-mentioned method is shown schematically with repeated treatment.

The previously crushed rock, which is to be separated into its constituent parts, is brought from the funnel 1 into the rotatably mounted drum 2 which is provided with a door 3 through which the rock is introduced and removed again after treatment their shaft are rotated, e.g. B. by means of a belt placed over the pulley 4. In the closed container 5, under which a furnace 6 is provided, the oil or fat or the hydrocarbon is introduced through the pipe 7, with which the first treatment is to be carried out. The oil or the like is brought into gaseous form and then flows through the pipe 8 into the drum 2, which rotates during the treatment.

As a result of the rotation, the rock comes into close contact with the gasified oil, so that extremely small oil particles are deposited on one or more of the components of the rock, depending on their nature.

After the rock has been treated in this way in the drum 2, it is lowered into the funnel 9, where it is allowed to cool down. It is then brought into the drum 10, in which the rock is subjected to repeated treatment, either with an oil of the same type as was used in the first treatment, or with another gasified oil, tar or fatty clay. The drum 10 is set up in the same way as the drum 2 and, like the latter, is connected to a closed container 11 in which the substance intended for treating the rock is converted into gas.

The treatment described can of course, if this is considered appropriate, be repeated several times with the same or with a different oil or tar.

Finally, in the same way as described above, the rock is introduced into a container with water or other liquid and stirred. whereby the various components separate.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for separating rocks and ores into their various components by the selective action of hydrocarbons, oils, fats and the like., Characterized in that the hydrocarbons, oils or fats are converted into gaseous form for treatment for the purpose of Reduce consumption of the substances mentioned as possible and thus make the process economical.
