In the drawing, such a pressure protection is shown schematically, namely it shows Fig. 1 in the rest position and Fig. 2 in the operative state, Fig. 3 to 5 show an embodiment in which the device is made that a sliding of the two parts of the curve on each other is avoided.
In the illustration chosen as an example, a is the fixed and b the movable abutment of the pressure safety device. Between these two abutments there are two thrust curve-like members c and d resting on one another with their curved surfaces, of which the former is rotatably connected to the fixed abutment a and the other to the movable abutment b that absorbs the pressure.
The curved surfaces of the two parts c and d are designed so that they only touch each other in a single line, which is at a certain lateral distance from the real pressure axis e so that the movable abutment b is reached until a certain maximum pressure is reached is held in its position, but if the quantity of the goods to be compressed is too large, the two thrust curves c and d are caused to roll over each other by the movable abutment b, which is influenced by the pressure, and as a result the abutment b can give way in the pressure direction, the support line the two curved surfaces resting on each other remains, but always at the same distance from the real pressure axis e.
This shape of the two thrust curves thus ensures that the resistance force of the counter-pressure safety device always remains the same both in the rest position and in the case of a lesser or greater displacement of the movable abutment b.
The device is also designed in such a way that after the compression pressure has ceased, the two thrust cams are returned to their starting position simultaneously and evenly.
Since it cannot be avoided with the presses under consideration here. that to
EMI2.1
It can easily happen that the two thrust cam surfaces slide against one another. Under these conditions, this sliding over one another of the thrust cam surfaces takes place in most cases before the calculated pressure has been exerted on the pressed material in the press mold and the result is that the products made with the press never achieve the required tightness.
To prevent this, according to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, the lateral surfaces of the thrust cam parts c. d corrugated or serrated so that they are like two

two thrust curve parts until a certain maximum pressure is reached in the rest position. however, if this maximum pressure is exceeded, the soft abutment is rendered ineffective as soon as the pressure becomes higher. causes the thrust curves to roll over one another, with a corresponding shortening of the support lines, so that the movable

the same remains.
