Description
The present invention relates to an aqueous suspension for metering into an aqueous system, in particular in swimming pool water.
Calcium hypochlorite is used for the preparation of aqueous suspensions, which are metered in as a water treatment solution for disinfection in swimming pool water. In the preparation and dosage of a calcium hypochlorite suspension in aqueous systems, such as e.g. Swimming pool water, it comes again and again to Dosierunterbrechungen, as in the alkaline suspension undissolved, poorly soluble calcium compounds such as calcium carbonate ("lime"), calcium sulfate ("gypsum") or calcium hydroxide deposit and additionally form. It is possible, as described in DE 10 2006 045 109 A1, to dissolve these deposits with hydrochloric acid, which, however, can be harmful to the environment and to the health of other operating personnel. The preparation and metering can also be effected by means of a metering device according to DE 20 2012 003713 U1, with which the initially undissolved and solid constituents of the calcium hypochlorite in the suspension can be largely dissolved or removed from the suspension even without supplying an acid. However, these substances nevertheless clog over time dosing pumps, dosing lines, hoses and dosing valves of the dosing device.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide an aqueous suspension for metering into an aqueous system, in particular in swimming pool water, wherein in the suspension the calcium hypochlorite and possibly present insoluble accompanying solids are better dispersed or suspended or at least partially present in dissolved form. It should also be ensured a longer maintenance-free operating life of the metering device, with which the suspension is metered into an aqueous system.
Durch die Hinzufügung des Komplexierungsmittel in die Calciumhypochloritsuspension werden die suspendiertenThe object is achieved with a suspension for metering into an aqueous system having the features of claim 1, a method for metering an aqueous suspension into an aqueous system according to claim 4 and the use of a complexing agent selected from the group of polyphosphates, phosphonates and / or polycarboxylates, as a dispersant for dispersing solid calcium hypochlorite particles and possibly present water-insoluble impurities in an aqueous suspension of calcium hypochlorite. By adding the complexing agent in the calcium hypochlorite suspension are suspended
Calcium hypochlorite particles and optionally present water-insoluble companion compound particles are dispersed or at least partially dissolved, i. the complexing agent acts as a dispersing agent. Preferred embodiments of the suspension according to the invention and of the method according to the invention are shown in the dependent claims.
In the suspension according to the invention, the addition of the complexing agent into the calcium hypochlorite suspension serves to disperse or at least partially dissolve the solid calcium hypochlorite particles and the water-insoluble impurities in the suspension. The added complexing agent acts as a dispersing agent and thereby enables the preparation of a completely dispersed and / or substantially completely dissolved calcium hypochlorite suspension and causes a better dosage of the calcium hypochlorite suspension in the aqueous system.
The presence of solid particles and impurities in a suspension of calcium hypochlorite for the disinfection of swimming pool water and similar germ-resistant waters entails the risk of depositing and eventually clogging parts of the device as a dosing device is used which adds the suspension to the aqueous system the solid, undissolved or undispersed or suspended particles. In particular, calcium compounds are deposited at certain locations which are favorable for deposition in the metering device and may disturb the transport of the suspension and, in extreme cases, bring it to a standstill. In order to disperse or dissolve these sparingly soluble calcium compounds in the suspension, so that the aqueous suspension can then be metered without interruption or interruption, the calcium hypochlorite suspension is added according to the invention an additive in the form of a complexing agent. The complexing agent acts as a dispersing agent and results in the dispersion of the (water-insoluble) solid particles, in particular the calcium-containing solids such. Calcium carbonate and calcium hydroxide. in the aqueous suspension, thereby ensuring a trouble-free dosing of the suspension in an aqueous system. An additional advantage is that the suspended Calciumhypochlorit- and insoluble Entleitstoffverbindungen or Entleitstoffverbindungsteilchen held not only in limbo, but surprisingly partially dissolved completely.
The dispersants used according to the invention are non-acidic (alkaline or neutral), water-soluble complexing agents from the product classes of polyphosphates, phosphonates and / or polycarboxylates. Preference is given to a mixture of polyphosphates and polycarboxylates. Surprisingly, the dispersants containing polycarboxylates are chlorine stable (up to 8% calcium hypochlorite) products.
Generally, these dispersants are added as an aqueous solution in an amount of 800 to 2400 ppm, preferably in an amount of 1600 to 1800 ppm, to the feed water for the calcium hypochlorite suspension so that the concentration of the dispersant based on the suspended calcium hypochlorite concentration is 1% to 24% and preferably the concentration is in the range of 2 to 16%. Although this does not achieve complete complexation of the insoluble constituents, the calcium hypochlorite suspensions can be metered without problems even with these substoichiometric addition amounts. The dispersants may be used alone, e.g. in the amount ranges mentioned below, as well as in combination with one another, at any mixing ratio, selected from the aforementioned product groups, are used. The dispersant added as an additive to the suspension contains, in a preferred embodiment, 28-50, preferably 33-45, more preferably 38-40% by weight of polyphosphate; 2-8, preferably 3-7, more preferably 4-6 wt .-% polycarboxylates; and 0.4-1.6, preferably 0.6-1.4, more preferably 0.8-1.2 wt .-% sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide and the remainder water. Instead of polyphosphate or in addition to a phosphonate can be used.
Die Viskosität der ca. 45 %igen Lösung beträgt ca. 1300 mPas (gemessen mit dem Brookfield-Viskosimeter).As a polycarboxylate, products of the Sokalan series, in particular the product Sokalan PA 30 CL, have proved to be suitable. Sokalan PA 30 CL is a solution of polyacrylate and this has an average molar mass of about 8000 g / mol (measured by the GPC method). The viscosity of the approximately 45% solution is about 1300 mPas (measured with the Brookfield viscometer).
Potassium tripolyphosphate is provided as a solution, especially as a 50% solution. The pH is 11. Also, other alkali polyphosphates are useful in addition to potassium tripolyphosphate or instead.
Phosphonates are salts of organic phosphonic acids. The organic residue may e.g. an alkyl group or an aryl group. Several phosphonate residues can be present in one molecule. Like polyamino acids, aminopolyphosphonic acids can also be prepared by bridging. The phosphonates can be used as complexing agents and builders. Examples of phosphonates are HEDP, ATMP, NTMP, DTPMP, EDTMP or PBTC. Phosphonates are generally biodegradable.
The addition of the dispersants is expediently proportional to the amount, preferably in the preparation of the calcium hypochlorite suspension. The calcium hypochlorite suspension can be prepared in the apparatus described below according to DE 20 2012 003713 U1 and metered into an aqueous system. In this dosing device with a suspending device and a metering device, at least part of the calcium hypochlorite suspension from a supply line, via which the suspension is passed from the suspending device into the metering device, is branched off into a return line and returned through the return line into the suspension device. This recycling of part of the calcium hypochlorite suspension into the suspending device thus takes place in circulation operation. Suitable circulation times for the circulation operation are in the range of 1 to 100 seconds, and more preferably between 5 seconds and 45 seconds. By returning a portion of the suspension in the suspending, which is suitably carried out by pumping permanently with a pump, the undissolved and solid calcium hypochlorite particles are mechanically comminuted and can thereby be dissolved in the suspension. The mechanical comminution is assisted by the use of a centrifugal pump which includes paddle wheels. By circulating the suspension, it is further mixed with turbulence in the suspending device, which requires the dispersion of the calcium hypochlorite particles. A turbulence of the suspension can, alternatively or in addition to the pumping, also be generated by an agitator.
Die durch dasAn improved chemical dispersion or even solution of the solid particles takes place after addition of the dispersant (complexing agent) in the suspending. The paddle wheels of the centrifugal pump also crush the still solid calcium hypochlorite particles of the suspension, which is circulated by the centrifugal pump. The by the
Pumping the suspension crushed calcium hypochlorite particles that have not dissolved in the suspension can be dosed easily in the crushed form through the metering device in the aqueous system or are so complexed by the suspension added as an additive dispersant that a much higher amount is present on well-dispersed calcium hypochlorite and / or the respective accompanying substances, so that a deposition of solids in the system largely omitted. This considerably lengthens the maintenance intervals for the metering device and protects the parts of the device. The calcium hypochlorite suspension is thus at least substantially completely dispersed and / or completely dissolved, the term " substantially " at least twice as long as without addition describes.
Die Erfindung wird nachfolgend anhand eines Ausführungsbeispiels näher beschrieben, in dem eineThe invention will be described in more detail with reference to an embodiment in which a
Komplexierung einer Calciumhypochloritlösung erfolgt: V ersuchsbeschreibung: 7.Complexation of a calcium hypochlorite solution is carried out: Description of application: 7.
In one experiment, equivalent amounts of the following additive are added as a dispersant to an 8% calcium hypochlorite suspension for the required complete calcium complexation.
With stirring with a magnetic stirrer, 131 ml of the additive as dispersant were added, for example, to 90 ml of 8% calcium hypochlorite suspension. When the additive is added in portions, voluminous white flakes are first formed, which dissolve on further addition and change into an almost clear solution. The mixture thickened in the short term, but liquefies again on further addition. The final result is slightly opaque pale yellowish solutions.
A preferred additive (dispersing agent) for the complete dispersion of the calcium hypochlorite and the water-insoluble impurities in a calcium hypochlorite suspension is composed as follows:
This preferred composition of a dispersant is added as an additive in aqueous solution to the feed water of a calcium hypochlorite suspension in an amount of 800 to 2400 ppm and preferably in an amount of 1600 to 1800 ppm, so that the concentration of the dispersing agent relative to the suspended calcium hypochlorite concentration is 1%. is up to 24% and preferably in the range of 2 to 16%. The thereby forming suspensions can be dosed easily with the known metering in an aqueous system even with these substoichiometric addition of added as a dispersant additive without causing disturbances in the dosing, in particular to blockages in the metering.
