Während des Ganges von Schiffchenstickmaschinen ist eine stete Kontrolle der in den Schiffchen vorhandenen Spulen nötig, damit diejenigen Spulen, die zu Ende gehen, rechtzeitig ersetzt werden können und damit ein Sticken mit leeren Schiffchen vermieden werden kann.
Diese Kontrolle ist dadurch erschwert, dass die Spulen in den Schiffchen nur schwer beobachtet werden können und dass die Länge des im Schiffchen vorhandenen Fadens geschätzt werden muss.
Um ein Leerlaufen der Schiffchen zu vermeiden, wird daher oft eine nur annähernd aufgebrauchte Spule entfernt und durch eine ganze ersetzt, wodurch eine Vergeudung von Faden stattfindet.
Um dem Arbeiter leicht wahrnehmbar zu machen, wann eine Spule eines Schiffchens bald zu Ende geht, ist bei der den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildenden Spule das Fadenende gegenüber dem übrigen Teil anders gefärbt.
Eine solche Spule kann in der Weise hergestellt werden, dass man ein Fadenende der Spule mit flüssiger Farbe trankt.
Zur Herstellung derartiger Spulen geeignete, in Verbindung mit einer Spulmaschine stehende Vorrichtungen sind in beispielsweisen Ausführungsformen in der Zeichnung schematisch dargestellt. Die Vorrichtungen bilden keinen Teil der Erfindung.
