Process for the production of briquettes from queasy iron ores, in particular oolite and brown iron stone.

There is a very large amount of more or less queasy iron ores in nature. which are such that iron ore particles and rock particles are partly cemented together by means of a powder consisting mainly of iron oxide hydrate, and partly mixed with such a powder. These ores, which usually contain 30 to 40% iron, are pretty worthless, especially if the non-ore-bearing rock bodies are made of quartz. An effective treatment process for such ores has not yet been known.

However, the method forming the subject of the present invention provides a

This mud is deposited in basins, where it remains until it is dry or almost dry. The sludge can also be collected and brought into this state in any other suitable manner.
