<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Rotationsdämpfern 2 in Eingriff 1St.

The invention relates to a damping device for movable furniture parts with a drive part movable relative to a rotary damper, wherein a damping fluid is located between a rotatable part and a fixed part of the rotary damper.
Rotary dampers are widely used. They contain a brake fluid, for example a silicone oil, which absorbs the energy between the moving and the fixed damper part. It is also known to use rotary dampers to dampen the movement of a furniture part, for example a door or a drawer.
If the device is installed in combination with a drawer, the device is mounted, for example, on the side wall of the body. Either the rear wall of the drawer or the front panel protruding from the side of the drawer can hit the actuating slide. It is also possible to mount the device at the rear ends of the drawer frame, so that the actuating slide or slides abuts against the rear wall of the cabinet or against a cabinet-side stop.
In the event that the movement of a door is to be damped, the device will advantageously be fastened to a body side wall.
Such devices can serve both the closing or insertion movement
EMI1.1
The object of the invention is to improve the braking or damping effect of a device of the type mentioned.
The object according to the invention is achieved in that the auxiliary part engages with at least two rotary dampers. It is advantageously provided that the drive part has two toothed rack profiles which mesh with toothed rings or pinions on the rotary dampers.
The auxiliary part can be rod-shaped and have two rack profiles.

An embodiment of the invention provides that the drive part is an articulated lever of a hinge, which connects a hinge arm to a hinge cup.
Another exemplary embodiment provides that the drive part is a rail of a pull-out guide set for drawers.
Various exemplary embodiments are described below with reference to the figures in the accompanying drawings.
1 schematically shows the device according to the invention.
2 to 4 schematically show horizontal sections through each piece of furniture, the arrangement of the device being shown.
5 shows an exploded diagram of an embodiment of a device according to the invention.
6 shows an exploded diagram of a further exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention.
7 shows an exploded diagram of a hinge which is equipped with a device according to the invention.
Fig. 8 shows a diagram of a hinge cup, which is drawn partially cut.
FIG. 9 shows a side view of the front end of a hinge arm and a hinge cup, the hinge cup being shown just before the closed position.
10 shows a side view of a front end of a hinge arm and a hinge cup in the closed position.
In the exemplary embodiments of FIGS. 1-6, the device 1 according to the invention consists of a housing 10 in which two rotary dampers 2 and an actuating slide 3 are mounted. The actuating slide 3 is by a compression spring 4, which is on an arm 5 of the
Supported housing 10, brought into the starting position. As in the exemplary embodiment shown, the arm 5 can be integrally formed on a cover of the housing 1.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the rear ends of the
Drawer frames 6 of a drawer 7 have two devices 1 according to the invention attached. When the actuating slide 3 abut the furniture rear wall 8, the
Movement of the drawer 7 damped.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
3 shows an exemplary embodiment, the device 1 according to the invention being arranged on the front sides of the body side walls 9 of a piece of furniture. The damping effect occurs when the front panel 11 of the drawer 7 meets the actuating slide 3. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, a device 1 according to the invention is arranged on the cabinet side wall 9 of a furniture body opposite the hinges 12.
If the door 13 is closed, it hits the actuating slide 3 of the device 1 just before it reaches its end position and the damping action begins.
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1-6, the actuating slide 3 is provided with two toothed rack profiles 14, 15. The rack profiles 14, 15 are arranged on opposite sides of the actuating slide 3. Each rack profile 14, 15 meshes with a rotary damper 2.
FIG. 6 shows an embodiment in which the rack profile 14 extends approximately over half the length of the rack profile 15.
Again, two rotary dampers 2 are provided which, as in the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 5, have toothed rim profiles 16 which mesh with the toothed rack profiles 14, 15. The rack profiles 14, 15 determine the engagement distance in which the slide 3 with the
Rotary dampers 2 engaged 1 pc.
Since the operating slide is moved from right to left, both are first
Rotation damper 2 rotated There is a relatively strong damping. If one
Rotation damper 2 leaves the rack profile 14, the braking effect is reduced accordingly. It is therefore easier for a locking mechanism arranged in the furniture to close the door 13 or the drawer 7.
In the exemplary embodiments shown, in the case of the rotary dampers 2, the housings which have the tooth profile 16 are rotated. The shaft of the rotary dampers 2 is in each case held in a rotationally fixed manner in an opening 17 in the housing 10. However, as in the exemplary embodiment below, rotary dampers 2 could also be used, in which the outer housing is mounted in a rotationally fixed manner and the shaft carries a gearwheel which meshes with the toothed rack profile or the toothed rack profiles 14, 15 of the actuating slide 3.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 7-9, the device according to the invention is integrated in a hinge.
In a conventional manner, the hinge has a hinge cup 21 which forms a first stop part and a hinge arm 20 which forms a second stop part. The hinge cup 21 and the hinge arm 20 are connected to one another via an outer articulated lever 25 and an inner articulated lever 24, which are mounted on articulated axes.
The hinge arm 20 is mounted on an intermediate piece 28 by means of a joint adjusting screw 27. Between the hinge arm 20 and the intermediate piece 28 there is also an adjusting disk 29 for the depth adjustment of the hinge.

described.
A rotary damper 2 is arranged on the outside on each side of the hinge cup 21.
A bow-shaped lever arm 26, which is located in the interior of the hinge cup 21, acts on the rotors of the rotary dampers 2.
If the hinge is closed, the outer articulated lever 25 presses the bow-shaped lever arm 26 in the direction towards the bottom of the hinge cup 21, as a result of which the rotary dampers 2 come into operation. A leg spring 22 is provided in the hinge cup 1, which in turn presses the lever arm 26 into the ready position when the hinge is open.
In this exemplary embodiment too, a closing mechanism can be provided, which comprises a spring 33 mounted in a guide sleeve 32 and which presses the inner articulated lever 24 and thus the hinge cup 1 into the closed position. The closing force of the closing mechanism must be greater than the damping force of the rotary damper 16.
