Ein Fortschaffen dieser glühenden Schlacken auf grössere Entfernungen ist mühselig und kostspielig, die auf Halden geworfene glühende Schlacke brennt weiter und es entströmen ihr giftige Gase und überdies geht ein Teil des wertvollen Brennstoffs (Koks) meist über 10% mit den Schlacken unverbrannt ab und ganz verloren.
Die den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildende, in der Zeichnung schematisch dargestellte Einrichtung soll diese Übelstände beseitigen.
Die aus der Kesselbatterie k bei a entleerte glühende Schlacke wird durch Gossen s in eine unterhalb der Kessel angeordnete Rohrleitung r geschüttet, in welcher Wasser zirkuliert und wird hier sofort abgelöscht. Der die Schlacke aufnehmende Rohrstrang hat Gcfälle und führt die abgelöschte Schlacke in ein Bassin b. in welchem sich-nach ihrem spezifischen Gewicht-Schlacke und mitgerissener Koks so auscheiden, dass die Schlacke zit Boden sinkt, während der Koks oben schwimmt.
