Method for sealing the subfloor in footwear.

The invention relates to a method for sealing the sub-floor in footwear.

This procedure prevents moisture from getting into the sole of the shoe etc. from below and prevents the foot from getting cold from below, especially in winter. It thus becomes protection
 EMI1.1
thick layer c of fat. This layer of fat is z. B. applied to the insole, and the sole is then hammered well on the insole.

In the case of sewn shoes, a second, deeper seam is used in addition to the edge seam
Seam d, * which connects the sole, upper leather and insole with one another and thus prevents the fat from escaping to the outside. This seam goes through the fat layer.

Said fat layer consists, for. B. from equal parts stearic oil, good sebum and
Wax, or instead of stearic oil, birch tar oil or glycerine oil is used. After the two soles are united by means of nailing or stitching, the fat penetrates into the soles and even penetrates through the insole. When walking, fat gets to the stocking.

This process can be used to advantage in order to bring counter-welding agents (salicylic acid preparations, tannin, etc.) with the fat into the insole and the stocking at the same time.
