Process for the preparation of yellow-red to blue-red disazo dyes.

In the parent patent specification No. 41782 and the additional patent specifications, in particular No. 44441, processes for the preparation of substantive yellow-red to btauro-red dyes are described.

It has now been found that, like the dyes composed of diazo compound and p-aminobonzoyl-2. 5. 7-aminonaphthol sulfonic acid and the dyes from diazo compound and m-aminobenzoyl-2.5.7-aminonaphthol sulfonic acid when coupling with the pyrazolones respectively. whose sulfo and carboxylic acids provide valuable substantive dyes as the end component.

On unstained cotton, these result in yellow-red to orange colorations, which are characterized by acid fastness.

well, taking care that free nitric acid is always present. This diazo compound thus formed is then left in a solution of 28 kg
 EMI1.2
Add 36 kg of soda in approximately 300 l of water, the temperature of the batch being 16 to 20. After stirring for 24 hours, the dye was salted out, filtered off and dried as usual. It stains unstained cotton in lively orange tones.

Instead of the aniline, other bases, their sulfo and carboxylic acids, can be used, as, on the other hand, the pyrazolone sulfonic acid mentioned in the example can be replaced by equivalent amounts of a pyrazolone, its sulfo and carboxylic acid.
