Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

    Luftdruck-Kämmerschleuse.

    Air pressure combing lock.

   The invention relates to an arrangement of the movable platform in a lock system balanced with compressed air, the longitudinal section of which is shown in the drawing.

   Two chambers 1 and 2 filled with compressed air are connected by means of an air line 3 equipped with a closing element 7 and an intermediate channel 5. Each chamber has a movable floor 4 (platform in the shape of an inverted trough) on which the water quantity necessary for the ships with the ship 6 is located.

   The two platforms are balanced by the compressed air in the chamber spaces and guided in a vertical direction. In order to keep the platforms in a horizontal position, a chain system (not shown) designed in the manner known from lifting works is used.

   Rising and lowering of the platforms is achieved by increasing the pressure in one of the two lock chambers, for example by means of excess weight water while opening the closure member 7 at the same time, with air from one chamber entering the other.

   The seal between the platform and the lock walls is achieved by means of special sealing strips (not shown).

Claims (1)

Air-pressure chamber lock, characterized in that the water resting on the platform that is tightly guided in the lock chamber extends to the lock chamber walls, so that on both sides of the seals, air and water counteract each other.
