Iron steam heater with a heat accumulating shell.

Tubular heaters have already been manufactured in which the metal pipes are provided with a clay precursor with the interposition of a layer of sand for the purpose of absorbing large amounts of heat and releasing it slowly; In contrast, the present invention makes use of the significant thermal conductivity that is inherent in a concrete made of cement and sand or cement, lime and filler stone. The invention consists in that iron steam pipes are encased with this concrete and designed as a radiator. Such radiators offer the advantage that the heat-emitting surface is enlarged, but its temperature is reduced.

In view of the ease with which the pipes and the concrete can be given any shape, and the fact that iron and concrete form a particularly strong connection due to the same expansion coefficient, steam heaters can be produced in a wide variety of designs: as simple steam concrete pipes for Hei /. with medium heat capacity, as steam heton radiator heaters with increased heat capacity and as non-transportable furnace heaters with large heat capacity.
