Process for the production of protective insulation against soil moisture for ceramic ovens and the like. like

In the construction of industrial furnaces, especially ceramic u. Like. Ovens, the lack of a reliable and easy to manufacture insulation that would be able to prevent the rise of moisture in the soil made itself felt so far. So z. B. the effectiveness of ordinary asphalt insulation is canceled out by heat, cement insulation cracks, etc.

The subject of the present invention is a method which avoids these deficiencies and consists in the following:
When performing the furnace masonry, a layer of flat bricks or similar shaped stones is laid out at a height that is suitable from a structural point of view for the installation of the insulation, so that the bricks or shaped stones do not touch each other and the joints between the individual stones are only filled with air .

Only those bricks or shaped stones are used that are burned so tightly that no or almost no capillary uplift of the soil moisture takes place.

On the joints of the brick or. Shaped bricks are cover strips, plates or other shaped pieces made of iron or other material that is sufficiently heat-resistant and only on the surface achieved in this way is bricklaying continued. The cover slips, strips or other shaped pieces above the joints prevent mortar from penetrating and falling into the joints between the bricks or Shaped bricks.

The tightly burned brick or. other shaped stones do not absorb soil moisture due to capillary buoyancy. The air-filled joints between the brick or tile also act on the capillary buoyancy of the soil moisture. Against shaped stones.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for producing protective insulation against ground moisture for industrial ovens, in particular ceramic ovens and the like. The like. characterized in that a layer of flattened, tightly fired bricks or other shaped stones is attached at a height that is structurally suitable for applying the insulation, in such a way that bricks or other shaped stones do not abut and the joints between the abutting surfaces only with air remain filled.
