<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates to a curtain lift with a winding shaft to be mounted horizontally above the window, on which a drive wheel is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner.
Such a curtain lift is known for example from AT-B-274 280. A bevel gear, in which a pinion engages, is used as the drive gear. A brake is provided to prevent the curtain rail from lowering independently. If a crank is placed on the pinion hub to actuate the curtain lift, the brake is released so that the curtain lift does not become stiff. The curtain rail is attached to the lower edge of a fabric that can be wound on the winding shaft.
A disadvantage of this known curtain lift is that the curtain rail falls down relatively quickly if the crank is not held firmly with both hands, the crank rotating rapidly, which is not without danger.
In general, the curtain lifts currently known that lower the entire curtain track have the following disadvantages: Because of the occasionally high weight of the track with curtain, the track length is limited to 4 m and each track run must be raised individually. This requires several pull cords for each individual rail run, which have to be attached to the wall and are provided with a cord retensioning device. On the mounting board, which is attached to the ceiling, several centering guide blocks are required due to the correct positioning of each rail run at the upper end point.
It has therefore already been proposed to make the curtain rail in two parts, the longer rail part being screwed to the ceiling and a short rail part, approx.
80 cm, is raised and lowered. However, there are also disadvantages: Several individual parts and mechanisms are necessary, such as. B. latching device, release mechanism, centering lugs, holding slides, deflection rollers, centering guide blocks, several cords, etc. Since the curtain rail is divided into two, there is a rail joint on the end faces of the rail runs that does not always align over time, so that the risk of curtain slider

is given. The capacity of the short, retractable rail section is limited, which means that long carcasses require the rail section to be lowered and pulled up repeatedly until all curtain tracks are suspended.
Regardless of whether the curtain rail is made in one or two parts, there is always the problem that should the pull cords not be held firmly in the hand, especially when pulling up the rail with the curtain, the rail and the curtain fall rapidly towards the floor. In addition, hanging and unhooking the curtain and operating the pull cords is only possible at the end of the rail, which is often difficult to access. Most lifts are only suitable up to a maximum room height of 3, 50 m. Until now, curtain lifts could only be equipped with a maximum of two-track curtain rails.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a curtain lift which is easy to operate even with heavy curtains with little effort and in which the curtain rail always remains in its current position when the actuating device is released. It should be possible to lower or pull up curtain rails up to 6 m in length and also three-track rails in a single operation.
According to the invention, these objects are achieved by a curtain lift of the type mentioned at the outset in that the drive wheel is a worm wheel in which a worm engages, that the worm can be driven by an endless cord, an endless ball cord or by a toothed belt and that pull cords are attached to the winding shaft. and can be developed to which a curtain rail can be attached.
A worm gear has a sufficiently high reduction ratio that even the heaviest curtains can be pulled up with little effort. It is operated by pulling on an endless cord, an endless ball cord or a toothed belt; this is considerably easier than cranking up a curtain rail, as is necessary according to AT-B-274 280 mentioned above. Since worm gears are self-locking, there is no risk that one
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The curtain rail falls unintentionally towards the floor; no brakes are necessary for this purpose.
When using an endless cord, there is a risk that it will slip. To avoid this, it is expedient that a line wheel in which the endless line is guided is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on the axis of the worm and that two rollers are arranged above the line wheel and are pretensioned against the line wheel so that they hold the endless line against the line wheel to press. When using an endless ball cord or a toothed belt, the power transmission is positive, so that there is no risk of slipping in these cases.
Finally, it is favorable if the worm wheel, including the worm and endless cord, endless ball cord or toothed belt, can be mounted at various points on the winding shaft. In this way, the user has the option of operating the curtain lift at any desired location.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing. 1 shows a schematic front view of a curtain lift according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows detail III from FIG. 1, namely a bore in a winding shaft.
A mounting board 1 in the same length as the curtain rail 10 is attached to the ceiling. Four mounting brackets 2 are screwed onto this mounting board 1 and are provided with a bore, a winding shaft 3 of the same length as the mounting board 1 being supported through this bore. A worm wheel 4, which is driven by a worm 5, is attached to the winding shaft 3 in the central region. On the screw axis there is a cord wheel 6 in which an endless cord 7 or an endless ball cord or a toothed belt is guided. Should an endless cord 7 be guided over the cord wheel 6, there are two spring-loaded rollers 11 above the cord wheel 6, which press on the endless cord 7, so that when it is pulled, the cord wheel 6 does not slip but rotates with it. The winding shaft 3 has four bores 8.
A pull cord 9 is attached to each of these four bores,
