Electrical cable with layers of different types of insulation material.

Electrical cables are often made with multiple layers of different types of insulation for certain reasons. For example, one type of these liabel have several insulating sheaths, which consist of different materials, the dielectric constant and thickness of which is chosen so that the dielectric force expression, i.e. H. the voltage, based on the unit of thickness of the insulating compound, is approximately the same in each layer, for the purpose of utilizing the latter as fully as possible with regard to its insulating power, while the individual insulating layers are uniformly stressed. To produce the individual insulating layers, different insulating bodies, as well as different types of oils and the like, of a very specific quality and property are used.

It has now been shown. that the constituents of the individual layers exert unfavorable interactions with one another, and due to the eventual homogenization of all layers of the insulating compound, the effect aimed for in the manufacture of the cables is lost.

The object of the present invention is intended to avoid the aforementioned disadvantage in that the individual insulating layers are separated from impermeable, vegetable substances by layers of parchment paper or other appropriate intermediate layers.

The figure shows an exemplary embodiment of such a cable in cross section. The conductor a is surrounded by an insulating layer b produced with specific electrical properties, which is separated from the insulating layer d, which has a different composition and other electrical properties, by the parchment paper layer c.

The number of insulating layers is insignificant and not restricted. It is not necessary that all insulating layers consist of oil-soaked substances. The cable can also be enclosed and armored in one or more lead sheaths in a known manner.
