   Die Erfindung betrifft eine Gelenkpfanne für ein künstliches Gelenk, insbesondere Hüftgelenk, an deren Aussenseite mehrere zylindrische Verankerungsdorne vorgesehen sind, die einen kegelförmigen Endbereich aufweisen. 



   Gelenkspfannen für künstliche Gelenke werden in den Knochen eingeschlagen, wobei aussenseitige Schneiden, Rippen und Nuten geringfügig in den Knochen eindringen (DE 29 11 754 C,
EP 380 045 A, US 4 883 491 A). In die eingesetzte Gelenkpfanne wird dann eine Innenpfanne aus einem Keramikmaterial eingesetzt. Verankerungsdorne verbessern den Halt des Implantats im
Knochen zusätzlich. Im bevorzugten Fall eines Hüftgelenks werden die Dorne in das Pfannendach des Hüftgelenks eingeschlagen, das aus einer etwas härteren Schicht des subchondralen Knochens besteht. Das Pfannendach ist widerstandsfähiger als der tieferliegende Bereich und daher für die Implantatverankerung besonders geeignet. 



   Die Verankerungsdorne durchdringen beim Einschlagen nur schwer diesen harten Knochen des Pfannendachs, der bei jüngeren, aktiveren Patienten besonders hart ist. Die Gefahr der Beschädigung des Knochens ist durch die Keilwirkung und den erforderlichen grossen Kraftaufwand gross. Die Erfindung hat es sich daher zur Aufgabe gestellt, die Verankerungsdome so auszubilden, dass die Gelenkpfanne mit einem geringeren Kraftaufwand eingeschlagen werden kann, und die Gefahr der Beschädigung verringert wird. 



   Erfindungsgemäss wird dies dadurch erreicht, dass im kegelförmigen Endbereich zumindest eine sich achsparallel erstreckende Nut vorgesehen ist. Die Verankerungsdorne sind auf diese Weise mit   einer "strukturierten Meisselspitze" versehen,   die das Eindringen des kegelförmigen Endbereiches erleichtert, da ab einer ersten Eindringstufe des unmittelbaren Spitzenbereiches die Quer-   schnittsfläche   des kegelförmigen Endbereiches deutlich verringert ist. Die auf den Knochen einwirkenden Keilkräfte sind geringer, wobei auch der Vorteil gegeben ist, dass verdrängte Knochenpartikel sich in die Nut verlagern können. Zusätzlich wird die Aussenfläche des kegelförmigen Endbereiches vergrössert, sodass das Einwachsen des Knochens und damit der Halt des Implantats verbessert wird.

   Die Ränder der Nut sind insbesondere als scharfkantige Schneiden ausgebildet, und beispielsweise gezähnt oder gewellt, sodass sie sich leichter in den Knochen einschneiden. 



   In einer bevorzugten Ausführung sind vier zueinander parallele Nuten gleichmässig über den Umfang verteilt vorgesehen, wobei die Tiefe jeder Nut insbesondere etwa einem Drittel des Durchmessers des zylindrischen Bereiches des Verankerungsdomes entspricht. Bei diametral einander gegenüberliegenden Nuten verbleibt somit ein Dornkern, dessen Durchmesser etwa ein Drittel des Verankerungsdornes ist. Bei einem Kegelwinkel von etwa 500 und vier Nuten, die sich über zwei Drittel der Höhe des kegelförmigen Endbereiches erstrecken, sind in dieser bevorzugten Ausführung am Kegelgrundkreis gegenüber dem Voll kegel die Querschnittsfläche um ca. 34 % veringert und die Umfangslinie um ca.   51%   vergrössert. 



   Jede Nut ist bevorzugt in den anschliessenden zylindrischen Bereich verlängert, wobei sie insbesondere etwa im Verhältnis 1 : 2 auf den zylindrischen und den kegelförmigen Bereich aufgeteilt ist. Vor allem der Nutabschnitt im zylindrischen Bereich stellt einen Aufnahmeraum für verdrängte Knochenpartikel dar. 



   Eine weitere Verbesserung des Einschlagverhaltens ergibt sich, wenn der Spitzenbereich des Verankerungsdomes in Verlängerung der Nut eine Abflachung aufweist. Bei der bevorzugten Ausbildung von vier Nuten erhält der Spitzenbereich dadurch die Form einer achtseitigen Pyramide, wenn auch die Zwischenflächen jeweils abgeflacht werden. 



   Der Auslauf der Nut am gelenkpfannenseitigen Ende ist bevorzugt gebogen und dieser Bereich kann auch von der Erzeugenden abweichend ausgebildet sein, beispielsweise schräg, gebogen, etc. Der Querschnitt der Nut ist bevorzugt U-förmig mit halbkreisförmigem Boden, dessen Mittelachse am Umfang des Domes oder in der Nut liegt.

 beispielsweise einer Titanlegierung, weist die Form einer Kugelkalotte auf, an deren Aussenseite mehrere, zueinander parallele Verankerungsdome 1 abstehen. Die Gelenkpfanne 10 weist weiters Öffnungen 9 auf, die für das Verständnis der vorliegenden Erfindung nicht erforderlich sind. 



   Jeder Verankerungsdorn 1 weist einen zylindrischen Bereich 6 und einen kegelförmigen Endbereich 2 auf, dessen Höhe etwa den Durchmesser des zylindrischen Bereiches 6 entspricht. In den kegelförmigen Endbereich 2 und den anschliessenden zylindrischen Bereich 6 sind, wie Fig. 3 und 5 zeigen, vier zueinander parallele Nuten 4 paarweise einander diametral   gegenüberliegend   eingelassen, deren Tiefe etwa einem Drittel des Durchmessers des Verankerungsdornes 1 entspricht. Aus Fig. 4 ist ersichtlich, dass die Dicke des Domkerns dem zwischen den Nuten 4   verlei-   benden mittleren Drittel entspricht.

   Der Spitzenbereich 3 des Verankerungsdornes 1, dessen Höhe etwa einem Drittel des   kegelförmigen   Endbereiches 2 entspricht, trägt in Verlängerung jeder Nut 4 eine Abflachung 5, sodass, wie aus Fig. 3 ersichtlich ist, eine pyramidenartige Ausbildung gegeben ist. Die anschliessenden Nuten 4, die einen U-förmigen Querschnitt mit gerundetem Nutenboden aufweisen, erstrecken sich somit noch über zwei Drittel der Höhe des kegelförmigen Endbereiches 2 und laufen im anschliessenden zylindrischen Bereich 6 in einer ansteigenden Kurve aus. Die Längskanten 8 der Nuten 4 und gegebenenfalls auch die Kanten der Abflachung 5 sind bevorzugt als Schneiden ausgebildet und können gezähnt oder geringfügig gewellt sein. 



    PATENTANSPRÜCHE :    
1. Gelenkpfanne für ein künstliches Gelenk, insbesondere Hüftgelenk, an deren Aussenseite mehrere zylindrische Verankerungsdorne vorgesehen sind, die einen kegelförmigen End- bereich aufweisen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass im kegelförmigen Endbereich (2) zumin- dest eine sich achsparallel erstreckende Nut (4) vorgesehen ist.

Claims (1)

  1. 2. Gelenkpfanne nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass vier zueinander parallele Nuten (4) gleichmässig über den Umfang verteilt vorgesehen sind.
    3. Gelenkpfanne nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Tiefe der Nut (4) einem Drittel des Durchmessers des Verankerungsdornes (1) entspricht. EMI2.1 schliessenden Bereich (6) des zylindrischen Verankerungsdornes (1) verlängert ist.
    6. Gelenkpfanne nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Nut (4) sich auf den kegelförmigen Endbereich (2) und den anschliessenden zylindrischen Bereich (6) im Ver- hältnis 2 : 1 aufteilt.
    7. Gelenkpfanne nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Längskanten (8) der Nut (4) Schneiden bilden. EMI2.2 wellt oder gezähnt sind.
    9. Gelenkpfanne nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Nut (4) im Querschnitt etwa U-förmig ausgebildet ist und einen gerundeten Nutenboden auf- weist.
    10. Gelenkpfanne nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das En- de der Nut (4) im zylindrischen Bereich (6) gebogen ausläuft.
    11. Gelenkpfanne nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Spitzenbereich (3) des Verankerungsdomes (1) in Verlängerung der Nut (4) eine Abfla- chung (5) aufweist.
    12. Gelenkpfanne nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Spitzenbereich (2) des Verankerungsdornes (1) etwa ein Drittel der Länge des kegelförmi- gen Endbereiches (2) aufweist.
