Abstract
For the strength reinforcement of a scaffolding post 1, the latter has, between both ends, a bore 6 in which a tube 2 is accommodated. Fitted over the two ends 9, 10 of the tube 2 are shims 2 which butt against the scaffolding post 1 and are firmly fastened by the ends 9, 10 of the tube 2 being flanged outwards. The wood on the end sides of the scaffolding post 1 is thereby firmly held together, this avoiding cracks from forming on the end sides and providing edge protection on all sides. <IMAGE>
Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a scaffold post with final reinforcement.
When using wooden scaffolding posts, weather conditions and rough operation on construction sites, if no reinforcement is used for protection, cause cracks in the wood and edges break out. The edges at the ends are particularly stressed.
The object of the invention is to increase the life of scaffold posts. This object is achieved in that in the area of both ends of the scaffold post there is a borehole passing through it parallel to its plane, that a pipe is received in the borehole and that washers are placed over both ends of the pipe which rest on the scaffold post and which are riveted to the ends of the tube.
The increased strength of the wood prevents cracking on the end faces and provides all-round edge protection. Furthermore, the scaffold post according to the invention has the advantage that it is completely insensitive to the internal drying out of the wood and to external influences.
The openings of the steel tubes also offer the possibility of connecting several scaffolding posts both lengthways and crossways, which can increase the safety of scaffolding.
Further features and advantages emerge from the subclaims and the following description of an exemplary embodiment of the invention with reference to the drawings. 1 shows an end of a scaffold post according to the invention, FIG. 2 partly in section along the line 11-11 in FIG. 1 shows an end view of a scaffold post according to the invention on a smaller scale, and FIG. 3 shows a view of the scaffold post from the left of FIG. 1 seen.
A scaffold post 1 has a borehole 6 which runs from one narrow side 4 to the other narrow side 5 and in which a tube 2 is received. In the area of the openings of the borehole 6 in the area of the narrow sides 4, 5 there are depressions 7, 8 in which washers 3 are received, which are inserted over the ends 9, 10 of the tube 2. The ends 9, 10 of the tube 2 are flanged outwards in their area projecting over the washers 3, whereby the tube 2 is riveted to the washers 3 and is firmly clamped to the scaffold post 1.
