Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Device for the spatial limitation of firedamp and coal dust explosions in mines.

The fact that the existing safety precautions, such as ventilation and safety lights, have not yet been able to prevent serious explosions in mines, leads to the suggestion that safety devices should be implemented that do not prevent the occurrence of severe weather, explosions and fires, but their spread prevent and restrict it to your stove without significantly disrupting operation.

Such a device is the subject of the invention. According to her, explosions in hitting weather, fires, etc. s. w. be restricted to a narrowly delimited area, but not simply by dividing the mine workings into many small, weather-controlled compartments, as has already been suggested, but rather by doing this division of the mine workings using doors, The fillings are made of weather-permeable material that prevents the penetration of flames. As is known, tight wire mesh, which in and of itself is permeable to gas and air, has the property of being flame-proof.

This property, for example in the case of the safety lamp and the so-called #explosion-proof vessels ", has recently been successfully used for fire-weather-proof encapsulation of sparking electrical machines and apparatus for mining operations.

In the present case, wire mesh should therefore primarily provide the material for the door panels. When setting up the pit, the well-known double doors, revolving or sliding doors, which can be moved either to the side, upwards or downwards, are used, since the individual departments usually have to remain accessible to one another and in conveying connection.

   Necessary is :
1. that the metal wire mesh doors do not hinder mining traffic, but open and close again as independently as possible when a trolley passes through.

   2. That the metal wire mesh layers or the like are not torn by the explosion pressure and the vibrations that hit them.

In mines, where the air supply or extraction by means of the whole mining

According to the inventors, weather management is not hindered by these weather-permeable doors.
