Break coupling for machine parts.
The invention relates to a safety device for machine parts. It is known to apply artificial fractures to machine elements in order to prevent overloading of the parts. According to the present invention, the machine part is composed of two mutually rotatably connected pieces that are held in their mutual position by the artificial break point. If a dangerous overload occurs, the break point is destroyed and the pieces that make up the machine part can turn against each other. As a result, respectively. the machine part is shortened and the excessive stress ceases.
The drawing shows the application of the invention on the eccentric rod of a hard crushing machine.
Eccentric & sits on shaft a. Uer eccentric bends! c has the usual shape and is connected by a bolt d to the eccentric rod e, which in turn is connected to the adjoining machine parts by the bolt f. The eccentric rod e has an essentially U-shaped cross section and, with two tabs, surrounds the lower part of the eccentric bracket c. The eccentric bracket is designed at g to form a support surface on which the surface h of the eccentric rod e fits. Both surfaces are held together by a screw t which is calculated to withstand normal stress.
As long as the normal stresses in the company occur, the screw holds the
Exzenterbügelc and the eccentric rod e in the position shown. But if the stress exceeds the permissible level, the screw i breaks and the eccentric rod e rotates with it
