Adjustment device for double telescopes with variable magnification by changing the eyepiece-lens distance.

The adjustment device described below is intended for double telescopes in which the magnification can be changed as desired by varying the lens spacing in the eyepiece while maintaining the focus. For this purpose, the eye or The collective lens of the eyepiece can be given a double movement, once to change the mutual distance and then a second to maintain the original focus, with the entire eyepiece being displaced with respect to the objective.

Since these movements are not uniform, up to now mostly snails with a variable pitch have been used to generate them. Such snails are difficult to manufacture, especially when they are of greater size and steep incline. In here

ordinary screw The gradients of the screws are as close as possible to those of the theoretically necessary screws, while the remaining deviations from the screw movement are compensated for by a correction curve. The latter only has a very small gradient and can easily be produced precisely with a relatively large diameter .

The drive described above is shown in the accompanying drawing; al and a2 are two bridges firmly connected to the individual telescopes, in which the drive mechanism is n''lam'rt. Two further bridges b1 and b2 carry the individual lenses of the eyepiece and are moved as follows by the drive. The cord wheel k transmits its rotation through the screw pin s, which slides up and down in a slot and is attached to the screw spindle r
 EMI1.2
 Stiftsführung compensates for the differences.
