Process for producing aniline black.
Although there is great interest in the production of aniline print black on betanaphtolized goods, it has not been possible up to now to achieve a practically usable black.
It has now been found that on goods prepared in this way, a rich, floral aniline print black, which is common to all in practice. Requirements in every way, can be produced if one uses the mixtures used for the production of aniline black, e.g. B. those made from nitric aniline, sodium chloride and potassium ferrocyanide, paramin (paraphenylenediamine) are added. It is advantageous here. to increase the amount of aniline oil and acid somewhat compared to the usual aniline impression black. The various mixtures that can otherwise be used for the preparation of betanaphtol can be used.
It should be particularly emphasized that a printing black produced in this way can be developed into a beautiful black not only with stronger patterns (hiding), but also with finer engraving (infectons) by briefly steaming, which cannot be achieved without the addition of p-phenylenediamine the case is.
The present method makes it possible to produce an excellent aniline impression black on betanaphtolpräparierter goods at the same time in addition to Para- resp. Nitrosamine red and other colors, which can be set by steaming briefly.
In German Patent No. 37661 it is described that by simultaneous oxidation of p-phenylenediamine with z. B. aniline more or less blue or brown true black dyes; Nothing is said about the use of such mixtures on goods treated with beta-naphtha. One had to assume that these would be just as unsuitable for the production of aniline black on naphthol-primed goods as the printing inks made with aniline alone (cf. Noelting-Lehue, Anilin-black, 1904, p. 63).
