1000 V gemeint.

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

1000 V meant.
In known connectors of this type, the conductor cable ends are provided with conventional cable lugs which are crimped onto the cable end with a sleeve part and which have an adjoining flat eyelet through which a screw can be inserted and with which the conductor cable can thus be screwed onto a contact surface . This leads to problems in the cable routing within the connector housing with regard to the stiff conductor cable. Since the conductive connection should not be subjected to tensile stress, special holding means must also be provided for the end of the conductor cable inside the connector housing. This results in a complicated assembly.

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
stretch and compact connector design allows easy mounting of the conductor cable in the connector housing.
The solution to this is that a cable connection element can be placed on the end of the first conductor cable in a force-fitting or material-locking manner and continues coaxially with the conductor cable, that the pin contact element connects coaxially to the cable connection element, that screw connection means are provided between the cable connection element and the pin contact element, and that at least one conductor element in the insulating insert without force creates a conductive connection between the cable connection element and the pin contact element.
This coaxial arrangement according to the invention of the conductor cable end and the pin contact element when using corresponding connection elements enables a compact design of the connector housing while maintaining the necessary creepage distances and clearances. At the same time, assembly is extremely simple, in that the conductor cable is pulled through the connector housing from the connection side and the conductor cable is screwed to the connection element on the one hand and the plug contact element on the other hand against the insulating insert. This can then be pushed back into the connector housing and fixed there, in particular screwed on.
The cable is then to be secured on the connection side relative to the connector housing, in particular with a conventional two-part or multi-part cable gland which is screwed into the connector housing and clamps the cable in a ring-like manner when tensioning.
In a first favorable embodiment, the connection element mentioned comprises a crimp sleeve which has a first sleeve-shaped end which is pushed onto the end of the first conductor cable and crimped onto it. Alternatively, one is on
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
sleeve adapted to the cable cross-section is possible, which is connected to the conductor cable by soldering.
The connection between the connecting element and the plug contact element on the one hand and the insulating insert on the other hand preferably takes place in such a way that the two first-mentioned parts are inserted into the insulating insert and screwed directly to one another, whereby they are supported axially against the insulating insert. The screw connection can advantageously be produced from a threaded bore in a second end of the connection element with an internal thread, a through hole in the plug contact element and a plug-in screw which rests with the head on a contact surface on the plug contact insert.
In a slight modification of this, with the same configuration of the cable connection element, the plug contact insert can also be formed with an integrally formed screw pin, which can be screwed directly into the threaded bore of the connection element.
In both cases, a collar is to be provided on the cable connection element and on the plug contact element, which is supported on the insulating body. To prevent rotation, customary circlips are to be provided under the screw head or under the collar of the screw-in plug-in contact element opposite the insulating insert. In order to keep the insulating insert made of plastic material free from pressure forces, a spacer sleeve is preferably inserted into the insulating body, which is secured axially, in particular in a form-fitting manner, and on which the aforementioned parts are axially supported with their collars. The spacer sleeve can simultaneously form the additional conductive connection between the cable connection element and the pin contact element.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In a modification of the above, it is also possible that, for example, the cable connection element is screwed directly onto the insulating body and the plug contact element is likewise connected to the insulating insert by a screw connection. A possible exemplary embodiment for this would in turn comprise a spacer sleeve which is inserted in the insulating insert and is axially secured therein, but this is equipped with an internal thread and at the same time the second end of the cable connection element has an external thread. The insulating body of the spacer sleeve could then be screwed onto the cable connection element for preassembly. The plug contact connection element could in turn be provided with an integrally formed screw pin, which can also be screwed into the internal thread of the spacer sleeve.
Further modifications of screw connections are conceivable, for example that the spacer sleeve protrudes on the plug connection side and is provided with an external thread, the connector element then being inserted into the center of the spacer sleeve, but secured with a union nut construction thereon.
The cable connection element with the ferrule can preferably be made from a softer non-ferrous metal, the plug contact element from a wear-resistant, harder non-ferrous metal.
An essential common feature is the coaxial equipment according to the invention of the end of the conductor cable, the cable connection element and the plug contact element, the latter two parts being kept centered with respect to the insulation insert and an additional conductor element, which preferably also serves for load absorption and introduction into the insulation insert, in a conductive manner Connection with both of the parts mentioned.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
In a preferred further embodiment, the attachment housing also has an insulating insert which carries the socket contact element and which is detachably inserted into the attachment housing. As usual, this design enables the second conductor cable to be connected to the socket contact insert independently of the attachment housing already installed in a control cabinet or on a machine housing, and then to use the insulating insert in the attachment housing after the connection has been made. It goes without saying that the same configuration as described for the connection of the first conductor cable to the pin contact element can also be applied to the connection of the second conductor cable to the socket contact element and to their arrangement and alignment in the attachment housing.
This is particularly advantageous when a large number of add-on housings are close together, since the rigid conductor cables can be guided away from one another without being disturbed.
In a more common configuration, however, the socket contact insert fixed in the insulating body of the attachment housing will have a screw pin on the connection-side end, onto which the fastening eyelet of a conventional cable lug can be attached and screwed, the cable lug being crimped onto the end of the second conductor cable in a known manner or by a solder connection is set.
The socket contact element can be injected into its insulating insert or inserted subsequently. For axial securing, the socket contact element is penetrated transversely by a locking pin, which is also inserted through the insulating insert.
The insulation inserts of the connector housing and the add-on housing are fixed in relation to the respective housing using normal screw connections. In the same way, after
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
Establish the plug connection between the components to secure the connector housing relative to the add-on housing by means of a screw connection. Finally, the add-on housing must also be fixed to a base plate of a machine cabinet or a machine with inserted screws. For moisture protection, O-rings must be provided concentrically with the contacts between the connector housing and the add-on housing and between the add-on housing and the base plate mentioned.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawings.
Fig. 1 shows a connector combination according to the invention in vertical section through the axis with a connector housing (above) and an attachment housing (below); 2 shows views of the connecting surfaces of the connector housing (left) and the add-on housing (right) on a connector combination according to the invention; FIG. 3 shows the connector housing according to FIG. 1 in two mutually perpendicular views perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; FIG. 4 shows the attachment housing according to FIG. 1 in two mutually perpendicular views perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

Screw the screws so that they act on the internal radial clamping elements in such a way that a first conductor cable 5 which is passed through is fixed axially. The conductor cable end 6 entering the connector housing 1 is stripped and reveals the bare wire. A cable connection element 7 is pushed onto the cable end 6, which comprises a rear sleeve 8 and a collar 9 and a front pin 10 for centering. The connection element 7 also has a threaded bore 11. The collar 9 is designed as a screw hexagon. The connection element 7 and the cable end 5 are covered by a shrink tube 12 in the area of the stripped cable end 6.
The front pin 10 of the cable connection element 7 is inserted centered into a spacer sleeve 13, on which the collar 9 of the connection element 7 is axially supported. A pin contact element 15, which has a centering insert 16 and a collar 17, is likewise coaxially inserted into the spacer sleeve 13 from the opposite side, this likewise being axially supported on the spacer sleeve 13. The pin contact element 15 has a through hole 18, through which a screw 19 is inserted, which is screwed into the threaded bore 11 of the connecting element 7. A locking washer 20 is provided to secure the screw connection. Under the tensile force of the screw 19, the cable connection element 7 and the pin contact element 15 are supported axially against the spacer sleeve 13.
In addition, the spacer sleeve 13 makes conductive contact between the cable connection element 7 and the pin contact element 15. The spacer sleeve 13 is inserted into an insulating insert 21, which is detachably inserted into the connector housing 1. The spacer sleeve 13 is secured axially with respect to the insulating insert 21 by means of a collar 14 and is seated in its through opening 22. The spacer sleeve 13 is preferably cast in during the manufacture of the insulating insert 21.
The insulating insert 21 has a mounting flange 23 which bears against the connector housing. In the mounting flange 23,

ben holes 43 and inserted nuts 44, into which the screws 36 of the connector housing 1 can be inserted and screwed. The add-on housing 41 has a centering collar 45 and an upper flange surface 46 which, when braced, lies against the flange surface 31 of the plug housing 1 in a sealing manner. The attachment housing 41 has on its lower flange surface 48 a concentrically arranged annular groove 49 with an inserted O-ring 50, which seals the attachment housing against a base plate when it is screwed on. An insulating insert 51 is inserted into a through opening 47 of the attachment housing 41. A fastening flange 52 with screw recesses 53 is placed radially on the insulating insert 51.
The insulating insert 51 has a through opening 54, into which a socket contact element 55 is inserted from the rear. The socket contact element 55 has a front connection-side end 56 which is slit longitudinally and thus forms resilient fingers 57.
When connecting the connector housing 1 and the add-on housing 41, the pin part of the pin contact element 15 is to be inserted into this.
A locking pin 63 is inserted across the body of the insulating insert 51 and the socket contact element 55. The socket contact element 55 is protected by an insertion cone 64.
On the rear connection side, the socket contact element 55 has a threaded part 58, on which the fastening eye 59 of a cable lug 60 is placed. This is firmly connected to the socket contact element 55 with a nut 61 and a lock nut 62. The mounting flange 52 lies on mounting bases 65 in the through opening 47. Screws 67 for fastening the insulating insert 51 are screwed into screw holes 66. A second conductor cable connected to the cable lug 60 is generally mounted with the mounting housing mounted on a base plate. Here, the insulating insert 51 is detached from the mounting housing 41, the cable end through the

Through opening 47 is pulled forward to the connection side and then the cable lug 60 is fixed on the threaded pin 58.
The insulating insert 51 is then screwed back into the attachment housing 41.
In Figure 2, the view on the connecting surface 31 of the connector housing l, d. H. So the bottom view of the connector housing shown in Figure 1. The same details are assigned the same numbers. Additional details are not addressed. However, the number of two opposite eyes 34 and the number of four fastening screws 25 can be seen. Furthermore, the configuration of the screw recesses 24 in the mounting flange 23 of the insulating insert 21 can be seen. Likewise, the substantially rectangular rounded shape of the plug housing 1 and the protective collar 26 and the circular shape of all further recesses and the parts of the pin contact element 15.
In Figure 2 on the right is the view of the connecting surface 46 of the attachment housing 41, i. H. So the top view of the attachment housing shown in Figure 1. The same reference numerals are used and reference is made to the description of FIG. 1. As additional details, four through holes 68 can be seen in a flange part 69 of the attachment housing, as well as the number of two eyes 42 for connection to the connector housing and four screws 67 for connecting the insulating insert 51 to the attachment housing. Here, too, the shape of the screw recesses 53 on the fastening flange 52 as well as the basically rectangular rounded shape of the attachment housing 41 and the round shape of the socket contact insert 55 can be seen.
In Figure 3, the connector housing is shown in two external views, its principle being symmetrical in each case
