   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   The invention relates to a throttle valve with a valve body which can be adjusted coaxially to a valve seat within a valve chamber by means of a valve spindle and an inlet opening into this valve chamber, the valve body movably mounted on an extension of the valve spindle being under the influence of a spring supported on the housing pushes it towards the free end of the valve stem.

   Such a valve has become known from DE-OS 1690 945. Here, at a water temperature for the purpose of reducing noise, the valve body is split into a plurality of sub-bodies which are under the action of various compression springs. The extension of the valve stem directly leans against the first valve body against which the auxiliary bodies are supported with the interposition of a compression spring. The water is fed axially against the tip of the valve body, while the water is drained radially from the valve chamber.

   A check valve has become known from DE-OS2 310 856, the inflow and outflow conditions of which are comparable to the prior art just mentioned. The same applies to US Pat. No. 4,312,376.

   Throttle valves according to the preamble of the patent claim with a mdial or tangential flowed valve body can be used, for example, in so-called water switches of gas-heated water heaters. With such valves, a flow vortex is formed in the valve chamber, the core of which is the VentiBsorper,
The object of the invention is to choose the design of such a valve body in such a way that this design reliably prevents the risk of stall even at high water flow rates
 EMI1.1
 the disadvantages mentioned above is largely prevented.

   The only drawing figure shows an exemplary embodiment of the EdmdHngs item, in section,
The housing (1) as part of a so-called water switch and a threaded plug (2) screwed into it
 EMI1.2
 Outlet (9) emerges,
The amount of water is determined by the position of the valve body (6) in relation to the sharp-edged or only slightly chamfered valve set (10) and the largest diameter of the valve body (6) is only slightly larger than the inside diameter of the valve seat (10). The valve body (6) is by means of the threaded spindle (5) over the axial area determined by the passage cross section of the inlet (7}
 EMI1.3
 conical and the valve seat are angular, the risk of stall is reliably prevented.

   Within the scope of the invention, the valve seat (10) could also be formed by an annular flange which projects into the valve chamber (3) and extends axially into the region of the inlet (7).

     According to the invention, the valve body is movably mounted on an extension (11) of the valve spindle (5)
 EMI1.4
 spindle (5) pushes in.

   Of course, within the framework of de? Invention manifold configurations of the throttle valve
 EMI1.5
 ; so could be achieved.

   There are numerous other possibilities for the design of the valve body within the scope of the invention, so this valve body (6) in its area to be turned towards the valve seat (10) can not only be designed in a conical shape with a selectable between about 900 and 180 # cone angle ", but also dome-shaped or rounded in a similar way.
