 EMI2.1
If the control drum is turned back to the first starting positions in good time, the motor current is not interrupted by pushing the limit switch, but rather that the vehicle can continue to run at reduced speed to the end of the road. This is usually very important for screw jacks.

For elevators, where a negative torque occurs at a certain point of the stroke (overturning of conveyor trays) or otherwise an increase in speed is desired, so that the motor as a generator has to be switched to the resistors in short-circuit braking, it is necessary that the to Releasing the mechanical engine brake, the existing brake magnet can only be released again after the limit switch has been pushed out if the controller is in one of the positions in which the motor running as a generator develops a strong or strongest braking torque.

With the reversing limit circuit specified here, this can easily be achieved by opening the blocking contacts or. the resistance lock is set so that it does not come into action in the zero position, but in the strongest braking position of the control drum, so that the control drum must always be turned back to this position in order to release the magnet.

For the sake of simplicity, the embodiments described above are given for direct current, but can easily be used for alternating current through appropriate modification.
