<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to a built-in lift for vehicles, in particular patient lift for mobile examination and treatment stations, with a swivel head mounted on the vehicle about a vertical axis below the vehicle interior in the area of a door, and a swivel head consisting of collapsible parts, via a lifting arm and a parallel guide on Swivel head supported platform that can be raised and lowered by means of a lifting cylinder.
Vehicle lifts, which should not only carry the usual loads, but above all also patients, need a sufficiently large platform in addition to the corresponding load capacity to accommodate a hospital bed, so that most known lift devices are unsuitable as a patient lift solely because of the space available.
In the case of semitrailers, which have been converted and expanded into mobile examination and treatment stations with various medical devices and devices, for example scanners, there are already special patient lifts which are arranged below the rear door and consist of a swivel head on which a swing arm and a parallel guide is articulated a platform that can be moved directly with a lifting cylinder. The swivel head is centered on the door and the cross-divided platform is supported symmetrically to the swivel head. Due to this symmetry of the platform, lifting arm and parallel guide, as well as the lifting cylinder with respect to the swivel head, the forces and loads that occur can be absorbed quite easily, although this takes up space.
However, since there is enough space for semitrailers below the chassis side members to accommodate the lift system, this lift can be easily installed here, with sufficient movement for the swing arm to raise and lower the platform, for the arrangement and attack of the lifting cylinder and also the parallel guide is set and, last but not least, the entire width of the platform can be pivoted from the operating position into a transport position below the chassis side member by rotating the swivel head.
However, semitrailers are very complex and bulky vehicles that require special tractors. Last but not least, the use of a much more practical and skillful maneuverable bus as a mobile examination and treatment station fails because of the lack of space for the installation of a sufficiently large patient lift.
The invention is therefore based on the object to remedy these defects and to provide a built-in lift of the type described which is fully usable and functional on the one hand as a patient lift and on the other hand can be stowed quickly and safely in a pivoted transport position in the respective vehicle with the smallest space requirement.
The invention solves this problem in that the platform is longitudinally divided and has a folding part which is hinged to the fixed part directly connected to the lifting rocker about an axis transverse to its articulation axis, that a pull arm arranged in the area of the free longitudinal part of the fixed part and which engages on an upstanding bearing block of the fixed part Parallel guidance forms and that the lifting arm carries a support bracket in the swivel head-side articulation area to attach the lifting cylinder.
This asymmetrical concept allows the lift to be folded into a narrow, elongated format, which can be accommodated in a small space by swiveling the swivel head 90 degrees parallel to the corresponding vehicle side. Nevertheless, the lift in the operating state with the platform unfolded gives the desired dimensions required to accommodate a hospital bed, the position of the support bracket allows a suitable lever transmission for the attack of the lifting cylinder without protruding into the conveying area of the lift, and the side pull arm position ensures that the loading area is full the platform's horizontal position, whereby the platform can be lowered practically to ground level.
This special lift concept now enables the use of the lift according to the invention for a bus, the swivel head being arranged in the region of a side door with a pivot axis that is eccentric to the door opening, and the folded platform raised in a central position can be swiveled into a side receiving space of the bus body. The lift can be arranged in the area of a bus side door and into the cavities of a bus below the interior floor, which are usually used as trunk, without having to interrupt the load-bearing longitudinal spars of the bus structure or impair the stability and strength of the bus construction

stow the transport.
Swiveling out of this position into the operating position and opening the platform immediately provide the desired entry aid, which allows a bed to be raised to the level of the vehicle interior. The eccentric position of the swivel axis not only results in a proper assignment between the opened platform and the door opening, but it also further reduces the space required when the platform is swiveled into the transport position due to the more favorable swivel range.
If, according to the invention, the articulation axis lies between the swing arm and the swivel head in the swung-out central position of the platform in the area of the bus outer wall, there is a sufficiently large swivel movement play for the lifting arm despite the limited space, which entails a correspondingly large lifting height.
According to an advantageous development of the invention, the platform is arranged in the raised position at a distance from the door sill and a lift flap bridging the gap when the door is open is provided. This creates the prerequisite for raising and lowering the platform when the door is closed, which meets the requirement for the shortest possible door opening for getting in and out, especially in air-conditioned interiors. The lift flap can be stored in the bus itself or on the platform and, like the entire lift system, can be operated by simple hydraulic cylinders and its movement can be controlled depending on the door movement.
If the pull arm has a bottom or angled shape for reaching under the open or opening vehicle door, a correspondingly high bearing block can be arranged on the platform for the pull arm in order to improve the guide conditions, without the door movement being impeded by this pull arm.
In the drawings, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated purely schematically in one embodiment, u. 1 and 2 show an installation lift according to the invention in a partially sectioned side view and top view.
For a Bus-l-equipped as an examination and treatment station, there is a patient lift --3-- in the area of a side door --2-- which consists of a --4-- on a bearing pin --4 in the bus below the inner floor - There is a swivel head --5-- pivoted about a vertical axis and a platform --8-- pivoted about a horizontal axis --7-- on a swivel arm --6-- on the swivel head.
A pull arm --9-- is pivoted on one end on an abutment --10-- of the swivel head --5-- and on the other on a raised bearing block --11-- of the platform --8-- and serves as a parallel guide for the Platform --8--, which performs a lifting movement with the horizontal position parallel to itself when the lifting arm --6-- is swiveled. A lifting cylinder --12-- is provided for actuating the lifting arm --6-, which is attached to a support arm --13-- of the swivel head --5-- on the one hand and a support bracket --14-- of the lifting arm on the other supports.
To turn the swivel head --5-- around the bearing pin --4--, there is a swivel cylinder --15--, which is supported on a vehicle carrier --lb-- and on
EMI2.1
on the swing arm --6-- fixed part --8a-- and a hinge --17-- with the articulation axis --7a-- of the fixed part --8a-- foldable normal axis on the fixed part --8a-hinged part --8b--. In the operating position, a large-area platform --8-- is created, which is suitable for accommodating a sick bed.
In order not to impair the delivery area, the pull arm --9-- is arranged in the area of the free fixed part long side --18-- and the support bracket --14-- the lifting arm --6-- offers the bearing position in the swivel head-side articulation area - le --14a-- for the attachment of the lifting cylinder --12--.
In order to achieve the freedom of movement required for the lifting arm --6-- and the pull arm --9-- for the desired lifting height, the articulation axis --7-- lie between the lifting arm --6-- and swivel head --5-- and the abutment --10-- for the pull arm --9-- in the shown swung-out operating position of the platform --8-- in the area of the outer surface of the bus-l- or. the door --2-- and the platform --8-- remains in its lifting position at a distance from the threshold --2a--,
which in addition to the achievable large lifting height
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Above the lifting arm --6-- and the tension arm --9-- with a corresponding arch shape - a space --19-- remains open for opening and closing the door even when the platform is raised --8--. This space --19-- is bridged after opening the door --2-- by a lift flap --20--, which is stored in the vehicle and via a linkage --21-- and a flap cylinder --22-- is unfolded.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, the patient lift --3-- in the operating position and in the raised position results in a loading area aligned with the inside of the vehicle --la--, which allows the extension and retraction of a patient bed, a wheelchair and the simultaneous entry and exit An accompanying person is allowed to disembark. If necessary, the platform can be secured by railings, not shown. In the raised position, the vehicle door --2-- can be opened and closed, which of course results in a timed actuation of the lift flap --19--, so that the door --2-- only needs to be opened briefly and the indoor climate inside the vehicle-l-is hardly affected.
By appropriately actuating the lifting cylinder --12--, the platform --8-- can be lowered and raised again as required, so that perfect lift operation is guaranteed. The hydraulic systems are controlled in a suitable manner via a control device (not shown in further detail) and via limit switches, so that all movement processes take place precisely and precisely coordinated with one another.
If the patient lift-3-is to be brought into its transport position, the platform --8-- must be folded up and brought into a central position, whereupon the swivel cylinder

can be. The lift can be completely accommodated here and can be stowed away quickly and skillfully with all its additional parts and facilities. To reuse the patient lift --3--, first swing out the platform in reverse order, then unfold it and the lift is ready for use again.
